Owner description: Savannah's picturesque historic district brings the traditional southern atmosphere to life.

Our visit to Georgia included a day touring Downtown Historic Savannah. What a beautiful city. The only downfall to the day was the heat and time limitations. There is so much to see and do there and not enough time in the day to get it all done. Although we did not pay for the trolly tour, I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting for the first time because the tour takes through the entire downtown area and provides the history behind the area.

Just grab a good map from the Visitors Center on Martin Luther King Boulevard and walk around, and walk and walk and walk. So pretty, so much to see. Ask the locals for recommendations for restaurants and such.

Visit the squares. Take a tour. The shops are all cute, but watch their open hours. You can find things to do throughout the morning, afternoon and night. The people truly make this city a special place.

I loved this part of town. The way the streets are laid out, the squares which are now parks, the fountains, the trees, the buildings are all so nice to look at. The area really transports you to the past.

We took a trolley tour. The driver was very knowledgeable, and easy to understand. It was a 90 minute tour of the city, and well worth the price. They said it was $22. if you did not get on and off the trolley at the different stops, and $28. if you got on and off, but we paid $22., and could have gotten on and off if we wanted to. There are 15 stops in all. They picked us up right next to our hotel, The Hampton, Historic District, and dropped us off there after the tour
