“Sisters of the New South in Thunderbolt”
Reviewed June 4, 2013

We visited the sister restaurant in Thunderbolt. THIS IS NOT FANCY! BUT!!! If you want Southern cooking at it's best, this is the place! Not an imitation but real southern food that is real good. We stopped for lunch and they gave us so much a very light dinner was in order for that night. You walk in and look over what you want, they put it on plates and a tray and bring it to your table. If you think of about any Southern food you can almost bet they have it and it's good stuff. Great place to feed a family well and not take a huge hit on the wallet.

“Frozen greens anyone?”
Reviewed June 3, 2013

Yes,you heard it here..FROZEN,tasteless colard greens. In a city known for thier love of food, and outstanding southern cooking,Sisters of the New South is shameful. My husband and I could have opened a few cans of veggies, bought a banquet frozen entree and gotten the same dinner at home! Don't waste your money,or your tastebuds on this one!

“This is the real deal, "ya'll!"”
Reviewed May 31, 2013

As I told the staff, I haven't had good home cooking like this since my Momma passed away! I could have sworn she fried the chicken, made the mac & cheese & cooked the stewed okra. I was STUFFED, but that didn't stop me from taking a piece of cake for the road. And for the record, Mom was a professional cook in her lifetime, so I KNOW good food when it's on my plate. If you're visiting Savannah, take a morning to stroll thru nearby Bonaventure Cemetery then stop in at Sisters for one of the best meals you'll have while in Savannah! Bonus... no lines like you'll encounter at Paula's or Mrs Wilkes... MUCH MUCH better and MUCH less expensive!

“Awesome, Southern Comfort Food!”
Reviewed May 31, 2013

Our daughter was in the process of moving down to Savannah. We wanted good Southern cooking and she suggested Sisters because they were quick and delicious. Well that was an understatement! It was better than the other well known "Southern Cookin" restaurant! It is served cafeteria style. They had so much to select from. We chose the fried chicken, mac and cheese, collard greens, okra, and rice. MMMMM! The greens were cooked perfectly! They were not bitter or tough. The mac was amazing. The chicken was a whole experience of its own. To top it off...BANNANA PUDDING! It just doesn't get any better than this!
