Not many stores left to shop in. And what stores are there sell high end high priced items. There are a few places left to eat and drink, but that's about it.

So much fun. They have shops for clothes, food, art. Restaurants scattered around.

Was a nice little pedestrian area that had live music and vendors set up. Was a wonderful stroll or shopper's delight.

Most tourist cities have an area set up for shops, restaurants, bars, galleries and people watching. The City Market is the place to do that in Savannah, Georgia. It is not overly large comprising of two of their city blocks between two of the Savannah Squares, but they do pack in alot of places into that two block area. During our visit to Savannah the market was crowded, but not so overly crowded that you couldn't walk from one place to another uncomfortably. There are plenty of unique shops to visit like Byrd Cookie Company which offers a variety of small very flavored cookies (you can get lots of samples to help you decide); Savannah Candy Kitchen where you can satisfy your sweet tooth with a large variety of treats and get a free sample of their original Pecan Praline still warm after it has been freshly made (delicious, they just melt in your mouth).
There are about a half dozen or more of each: specialty shops, galleries, and restaurants. There is seating in the middle of the street between the buildings. They also offered free entertainment when we were there which was very good. All in all this is a great place to grab a beer, coffee, or pepsi to sit and relax after a day of sight seeing and shopping and just people watch for a time.

This spot was a nice area to sit and people watch. There is always a decent crowd of people. Not a lot to do, but enough to entertain for a while

City market is very small in comparison to some other restaurant and shopping areas in other cities, that are closed off to vehicular traffic. However, there are plenty of places to shop, eat and get "to-go" cups. They have areas where you can sit and enjoy the live music on the weekends. Worth paying a visit while in Savannah. We enjoyed it.
