Stayed 3 nights in the ground floor carriage house and could not fault the accomodation, first class. Having the breakfast ready in the room meant great flexibility, get up when you want and eat when you want. Standard of the rooms was what you want but are frequently dissapointed with in other establishments.

Hi. My teenage kids and myself stayed at The Galloway House on East 35th Street in Savannah in August, 2010. It was a beautiful place to stay. We stayed on the main floor of a large restored home which was very roomy and comfortable. (A Carriage House is in the back as well, also for rent). The main floor consisted of two bedrooms - one king/one queen. Two bathrooms as well, so very convenient. We made good use of the beautiful large front porch and lovely sun porch. The kitchen is well stocked with all plates/cutlery/pots/appliances you might need to cook a meal. The living room is very comfortable and the dining room is equipped with a lovely large table. If you have little kids who like to colour or scratch on lovely wood tabletops then this is not the place for you. Otherwise, enjoy the beautiful furnishings. And very, very clean!
The "breakfast" portion of the B&B consisted of a stock of bagels, muffins, cream cheese, juices, yogurts and coffee at our disposal - all we needed to get us started. (oh, and a nice bottle of chilled Chardonnay which was appreciated after an 8 1/2 hour drive). We preferred this to an 8:00 a.m. scheduled sit down breakfast with the hosts as life is really already too scheduled, no? We did see our hosts from time to time who live on the 2nd floor of the main house and who were always interested in what we did and offered some suggestions as to what to see/where to go in town. When we needed something or had a question, Keith and Jim were readily available and always happy to help us out.
35th Street is about a 20 minute walk from the historic district but this was not a big deal to us; we appreciated being away from the hustle bustle of the tourist area in fact. The walk down Bull Street through all the oak-treed (w/spanish moss) squares to the Historic District is very pleasant. Street parking is free which is not the case in many of the hotels in the Historic District.
Things we enjoyed: Trolley Tour for 90 minutes - good base; Mrs Wilkes Restaurant - $15 per person and country style - nice way to meet people and yes, it is a 1 - 1 1/2 hour wait but if it is good enough for Obama...; St. John Baptist Cathedral; Owens-Thomas House; Bonaventure Cemetery; walk along River Street and area - lots of shops - touristy, but we were tourists; Tybee Island - for a day, which was enough. I would have liked a scary ghost tour by Bobby Davis but my kids didn't want to chance a scary encounter. Next time.

My boyfriend and I have stayed at The Galloway House twice. I am impressed with how hospitable both Jim and Keith are. I felt as though I was staying at a friend’s house. They provided us with a complimentary bottle of wine which was very much appreciated. Also, the bagels, muffins, and coffee were great! We stayed in the 2nd floor carriage house both trips. The apartment is very spacious and comfortable. I love the décor and color used in the rooms. The bed is absolutely amazing and we never want to get up in the morning! During our last stay there was a problem with the a/c unit and it was fixed almost immediately. My only regret is that we didn’t spend much time on the grounds so we haven’t gotten to converse with Jim and Keith much nor have we got to meet their dogs. We will definitely be back so maybe next time. I love visiting Savannah and staying at The Galloway House makes the trip much more memorable. I look forward to our next stay.

We had the most amazing and relaxing vacation at the Galloway House in Savannah, GA! The carriage house apartment was so cozy and well appointed, that we felt right at home....it was so great to have everything right there in "our space". If you're looking to relax, unwind and/or reconnect, this is the place!

I enjoyed my stay so much last time, that I have already booked a return visit!

The owners were helpful and enthusiastic offering us an advice on an array of local cafes, bars, and restaurants. The Galloway House is the perfect distance from the noise and traffic of Savannah's sites. The room was immaculate and stylishly furnished and other than the fact that our shower was incredibly tiny we loved the upstairs carriage house. I cannot recommend this bed and breakfast more. The Galloway House really made our trip special!

My three sisters, mom and myself had a wonderful weekend reunion. We felt very relaxed here. It was a five star weekend. Great for all ages. We will stay again. Reommend taking the trolly around town, antique shops, theatre & seeing Cathedral of St John the Baptist.
