Hampton Inn & Suites Savannah/Midtown
Ranked #29 of 114 Hotels in Savannah

We travelled from Florida to Michigan and decided to take a side trip to Savannah. My husband picked this hotel while we were driving and it was the best hotel for the value. The room was spacious for my 2 young kids and they liked the TV channel selection. But the best part of this hotel was the swimming pool! It was a nicely heated pool with a maximum depth of 5 FT,so we could walk with them all the way to the deep end. Then the parents could enjoy the HOT TUB! Water quality was very clean and very warm.
The hot breakfast was excellent. It is a long way from Downtown Savannah, but we had a nice outdoor mall within walking distance with an Atlanta Bread Company cafe and Cold Stone Creamery. My husband utilized the Business center and it was quite helpful. to plan our trip home. We extended our stay for a day because we heard a noise from our car and wanted to get it checked by a local GM dealership.

We stayed at the Hampton Inn downtown Savannah in September. We had a three week fly drive to Florida and decided to see some other places before returning to Clearwater and Orlando for our last nine days. This hotel is new and lovely and clean. The beds were so comfortable. We had a breakfast included in the price which was enough to keep us going til midday. We took the local bus to the Savannah college of art where you can pick up the tour trolley.( you can buy tickets at the Hilton next door and they provide a shuttle service into the tour bus pick up area and will take you back to the hotel) It was worth every penny because the tour operators are very knowledgeable and kept up a commentary of where we were going. We saw 'Forrest Gump' too. He got on our bus. Great fun. I had my first three frozen Margueritas at a wee restaurant across the street called Cancun, they were very nice. River Street is a must see too. We left Savannah very happy. We were on our way to Charleston SC next.

We needed to attend a family occasion for the weekend and while we would have preferred to stay on the riverfront, we needed to be near our resident family. We knew that not much time was going to be spent in the hotel so we opted for the no frill variety. We were not disappointed at all. The room were spacious, and breakfasts pretty good. Our kids lved the DIY waffles. Given the same circumstances, I would choose this hotel again but in the bigger picture it is not ideal for a holidaying family and more suitable for business and quick passing through visitors

This hotel seemed very short staffed to handle the busy New Years weekend. There was never more than one agent at the Front Desk which had a line of people and phones ringing quite often. Breakfast was another disaster- there was only one employee handling the swarms of people trying to eat. Food was constantly running out, and people were getting jammed up at every corner because of a poor layout. The last disappointment was the cleanliness. I found hair in the sheets and towels, not just at check in. I found more hair when they refreshed the room. Two out of four pillowcases had black marks on them, and those remained the whole stay even though we requested the sheets be changed. I will NOT be returning to this property.

jch2000,

Thank you for your feedback. I sincerely apologize for all of the problems during your stay. The staffing issues will definitely be taken into consideration for future busy dates. As for the linen issues, this is unacceptable and I am going to address this with my housekeeping manager to find a solution, be it new procedures and/or new linens. I do hope you will give us another try as most guests are very impressed with our hotel and leave happy.

Sincerely,

We just checked in and I had to write about our experience so far. This is such a nice place and the Manager is so very friendly and helpful! We splurged for the whirlpool room and it is still such a great value! We may stay longer!

The hotel was brand new so the room was spotless and we also got a really great deal. Unfortunately it was a little way out of town so it's only worth staying there if you have a car. The amenities at the Hampton Inn were really great too - 24 hour hot drink station, cheap guest laundry and Business Centre with printer.

SuzieLee71,

Thank you for your feedback. I am glad you enjoyed your stay with us. While the hotel is a couple of miles outside Savannah's Historic District, most people do find the value and customer service we offer are worth the short trip downtown. I hope you found this to be true as well. Please visit us again soon!

We stayed here on our way from Ft. Lauderdale to Washington, D.C. The service was great even before we arrived. We booked in route and did not realize the hotel was not right off I-95. Our GPS steered us wrong due to my error.

When we called the hotel, lost, they directed us and stayed on the phone with us to make sure we got there okay. That friendliness and consideration continued through check in and beyond.

Though we arrived after 11:30 PM they were prompt in having a roller-way bed brought right up, all nicely made up and ready to be slept in.

The place was very clean. The room and bathroom were of adequate size and they supplied extra towels etc to accommodate our needs.

The business center could be accessed 24/7, had more than one computer and functioning printer.

There is a security guard on site who seems to also double as a helper.

The breakfast was above what you usually get at these type of hotels. They had a nice fresh fruit salad (melons, pineapples, grapes, orange slices etc) that was very good. There were multiple individual flavored yogurts, and many varieties of individually boxed cold cereals. They had the usual waffle station, bagels, donuts etc. They also had limited hot foods. We only tried the pre-made omelet and it was better than usual as well.

I’m particular and I would highly recommend this Hampton Inn.

Keep up the good work guys!
