As it's Savannah's oldest-running restaurant, it deserves a visit. The bar is classic old world. The menu isn't anything special but is standard grill fare. Worth the wait.

After arriving in Savannah we wanted a more laid back place for dinner that night. Colin, one of the managers at our B & B recommended the Crystal. We arrived and were promptly seated without a wait. The timing was excellent since we saw there was a wait period right after we arrived. Our waiter was attentive and suggested the fried shrimp when I asked him to name the best item on the menu. I took his suggestion and agree 100%. My husband ordered the hamburger steak which was also good. From the crowd of people I could tell that this was a place that was enjoyed by many locals. Two of the managers as well as the hostess stopped by our table to ask if we were enjoying our food. One of the managers asked if we were going to try their famous peach cobbler and when we declined saying that we were much too full she with her winning ways talked us into getting one to share. It was delicious and we both agreed that it was probably the best we had ever eaten. When we got our ticket we were surprised to see that it was written off as complimentary. It's a good thing that we were walking back to our B & B after such a wonderful and filling meal. The Crystal Beer Palace was a delightful place for our first night in Savannah. It is understandable why it is such a popular place. I would definitely recommend it.

My husband and I stopped here on a Saturday afternoon upon flying into Savannah. We weren't staying in Savannah, but wanted to go to the Historic District and have lunch before heading to Brunswick. We found the Crystal Beer Parlor on Yelp and decided to give it a try. The drinks were delicious, the staff (in particular our waiter) were super friendly, and the food was so good!

Since I've been in Savannah, I've been on a peach cobbler hunt. So far, this is the best in town. Streusel topping, gooey center with big slices of peach throughout and ice cream on top. Loved it.

Oh, and the bar is cool too.

Southern hospitality at it's finest, from the welcome to the goodbye. I highly recommend the She Crab Chowder--out of this world. They have just about anything from an array of appetizers, sandwiches and full meals.
