We were staying in savannah for a girls weekend. We thought that if we had three beds we could spread out and be comfortable. We were wrong. No sheets for the pull out bed -which is not able to open up anyway! Make sure if you pay extra $$ for the added pull out couch that it opens up. Due to cabinet placement, we couldn't access it. Other two Beds were comfortable.

Jacqueline,

Thank you so much for your review. Please accept my apologies for the frustration you had during your stay. As you can only imagine, we would have many more comments like this if this was the case in every room.
I am quite embarassed to say, although I walk these rroms regularly, and even pull out the sofas to look under & behind them, I had never tried to FULLY opened the one in this particular room. It appears that this was a construction & installation snafu that had previously gone unnoticed.

We are working on changing this design to make it work for our guests. Thank you again for your candid response. This is allowing us to address a very real issue that needed to be fixed.

It is wonderful to have guests like yourself whoa re willing to share their experiences with us. WE hope you will come back & stay with us in the future!

The design of this hotel is completely dysfunctional and it's not close to much except the visitor's center. Our room was cramped and the toilet and shower were in different "closets". The breakfast buffet was mediocre at best and the layout was terrible- was only a couple of feet wide and ended at the kitchen door so people kept bumping into each other. The room was not very clean and smelled of smoke. Will not stay again.

RamblinAsh,

I am saddened to hear of your poor experience with our property. While, I cannot change the layout of the guestroom, or the overall decor, we work very hard to provide you with a clean room & superior customer service. It seems claer that we fell short of your expectations and for this I am deeply sorry.
Since your visit we have removed the beads near the buffet line to try to improve flow. & have spread sevearl items out to try to create stations for breakfast.

Additionally, we are only a blcok from City Market which boasts live music on weekends & Art Galleries that are open regularly. We also have trolley tours that pick up & return to the hotel's front door all day. This is a great way to get to take in more of the city & learn about it's rich history.

I personally, hope that should you ever return to Savannah, you would give us another chance, but above all Thank you for being a Marriott Guest! We look forward to serving you again soon!

Room 207 has a number of large flagpoles outside of the window. Savannah is a windy city and the chains on these poles loudly beat against this room making a horrible amount of noise with each wind gust. When the front desk was questioned about what could be done to stop this noise we were told that they were well aware of the problem, had a number of previous complaints but "Marriott required them to remain up at all times" so there was nothing they could do. The hotel was sold out so moving rooms was not an option. Our room also had mold on the shower walls. The upside it the location - it is pretty easy to get around.

Room Tip: Avoid 207; not sure if other rooms are similarly impacted by the noise from the flag poles.

GumbyGirl,

We greatly appreciate the valuable feedback!

While it is true that there are flags located outside of this room, and on occasion (particularly stormy or extremely windy nights), you can hear noise from the flags, I can assure you this is not a normal daily issue. We have made several changes to the flag set-up since the hotel opened to minimize any noise you may hear. I have even stayed in this room one evening to ascertain the extent of the problem. This issue has only been a problem for us a handful of times per year, when winds & storms are just right. We continue to effort new ideas on a regular basis to aleviate this problem.
Unfortunately, I am sure that is little solace in that for you. We deeply apologize and would welcome you to let us know the next time you are in this area, so that we may make sure you have an exemplary stay.

Thank you again for choosing Marriott & we hope to see you again soon!

Everything about this hotel was very nice... like new, handy to historic district.
The staff was friendly. Great breakfast included.

There was only one potential negative - paid parking... BUT we dodged the bullet and found
a free parking spot (free after 5 OR 6 PM until 8 or 9 AM.

Room Tip: Parking is expensive, but free on street PM to AM may be available

The hospitality of the staff made our trip much more enjoyable. The parking attendants, front desk and housekeeping staff were all friendly and helpful about the area and the hotel. Judy, the concierge, was a true Southern belle. She helped me find a custom order cake for a last minute celebration and an area for my associates to meet off the beaten path. This will be my first choice for my next Savannah trip.

Beautiful hotel in a great location. Nice suite with a desk & sliding window that divides the sitting room from the bed . Very modern, very good breakfast included, the set up is a bit odd with a beaded curtain that's in the way & a bit tight going thru the line, otherwise found it clean, friendly,& helpful.

This hotel is not like your typical Spring Hill Suites and has more of a continental atmosphere akin to the Novotel chain in Europe. We loved the location in that it is in the heart of historic Savannah (valet fee). The bell men gave a hearty greeting upon each arrival and departure. The rooms have a sleek utilitarian quality in design and furnishings. We took advantage of the concierge who scored a dinner reservation at Lady & Sons for us. (On our last trip the waiting line stretched around the block and we never got in.) This is a great choice when staying in Savannah if you are not interested in paying for something too plush.
