“Nice place, good location”
Reviewed January 3, 2014

This was a very good place for us to stay as it was only 3 blocks from River Street. We were able to valet park the car and did not have to take the car out to do anything. There was a $20 valet charge\day which we were not used to doing (valet parking that is). It worked out ok since we didn't have to take the car out to do what we wanted. We had a suite w/2 queen beds & queen sofa bed. Living area was separated by a partial wall in order to provide a little privacy (my son and his family stayed w/us). Check in was very quick and staff was helpful. Breakfast was good each morning although my 3 year old grandson was upset that they had no waffles the second morning we were there (that was the day we left). Concierge staff was very helpful w/suggestions of places to eat and describing the Old Savannah Tour (which we found up doing).
Did have a little problem w/heat & air conditioning. Room was set on 72 or 73 but it constantly blew air conditioning; however, we did not report the problem. Did have to request another blanket for the pullout sofa but was brought to us almost immediately after requesting.

Room Tip: We were on 4th floor #430) at the end of the hall which worked out good for us. Quiet hallways. Di...

Wonderful staff and great rooms. Quiet and friendly areas. Anything that was an issue was answered an accomodated right away. The baggage area and parking the car was easy. All local transporation was not a problem. The tour company came right to our door and there was no parking issue. The telephone was clearly marked and best of all a wonderful heated pool

Love this hotel and will come again.

We stayed here for 2 nights. It was big enough for 5 people. It looked very nice from the outside and inside. Staff was very helpful . Breakfast was just average nothing special, but in the USA do not expect anything more from a free breakfast. The room was spacious and clean and so was the bathroom. The location was very central and close to downtown. Would stay here again.

This property is convenient to the historic area and is lower priced vs other options, however it comes with trade offs. The breakfast area and staff are unable to accommodate the number of people who stay at the hotel. Long lines and no where to sit to eat marginal food makes this unacceptable. Additionally, the room cleanliness is not what I would expect. Lastly, we woke up to a terrible smell in the hotel which is apparently due to a nearly business.

This is a standard Springhill Suites with all of the amenities. The rooms are in good repair and very clean. The location is just on the edge of the shopping district and about a 10 minute walk from the waterfront. Lots of shopping and dining just around the corner.

Special kudos to Katy, the who runs the front desk at night. She's got a wicked sense of humor and is very customer service oriented. She made sure we had everything we needed when we checked in and helped us find space in the hotel where my family could play loud board games at night, without disturbing the neighbors. She's the kind of person you want representing your hotel!

The only downside was the breakfast. For two consecutive mornings, the breakfast buffet was sorely understaffed, regularly running out of food, plastic ware, napkins, and water. There were 2 people assigned to keeping the breakfast stocked and neither one was regularly visible. Two people running breakfast on busy weekends is just not enough. The hotel should really better anticipate staffing needs on busy weekends when families are known to travel. Additionally, the pork sausage patties were brought out with large blotches of pink and looked underdone. When I approached the front desk manager about all of this, he acted very quickly to get everything caught up, so it's good to know that he takes this seriously. He later let me know that the cook assured him that the sausage did hit the correct cooking temperature and that they were fine to eat. I appreciated him sharing this with me, but I opted to refrain from any more sausage.

Bottom line, this is a very good hotel located walking distance from just about everything you'd want. It's clean, safe, and has a management team very dedicated to making your stay enjoyable. Hopefully they'll get the breakfast issues ironed out.

First class service at low budget
Prices. We paid in advance and got a great rate. Concierge in lobby was very helpful. Rooms very clean, and front desk followed up with any request for towels, blankets etc. Walking distance to everything you want to see in Savannah. Valet very quick and polite. Would highly recommend for a family stay.

Came to visit Girl Scout birthplace, and found this to be convenient to entire historic district. Savannah makes it easy to get around by selling all day parking permits which allow you to park throughout much of the city. Hotel was clean...refreshing fruit flavored water in the lobby. Enjoyed pool. Rooms are nouveau, with an efficient layout. Kids and wife had a great time, too. Would definitely return when back in Savannah.
