SpringHill Suites Savannah Downtown/Historic District
Ranked #41 of 116 Hotels in Savannah
Reviewed April 30, 2012

I think this hotel should be at top of list. Springhill has come up with three great things, sliding pocket doors, seperated toilet and bath, best of all a spotlight night light. I can read in bed without keeping others awake. Most other hotel don't have room for 2 or 3 woman. It has great location. I didn't like the $20.00 day parking.

Toniinsd,

Thank you so much for staying with us, and for your kind review! We are so happy that you found our hotel to be comfortable for your party of 3 women. The separated bathrooms really do make getting ready easier when there are several people in the room! We hope to see you again the next time that you visit our lovely city of Savannah!

Sincerely,
Lee Smith - General Manager

If your event is at the convention center in historic Savannah, this is right across the street. It's a very short, easy walk to the riverfront shops and restaurants. We also recommend walking the opposite way from the river up Bull Street. The streets left and right up Bull are where you really get Savannah's wonderful flavor. Other nice reviews about the hotel itself describe it well. This was a return trip to this property.

SpringHill Suites has several "flavors" and this version is our favorite. The hotel is new, open and European in flavor. The suites are comfy, mspacious and well-appointed. We love the separate sitting area and the separate toilet and shower rooms. The outdoor pool is on the 2nd floor and completely walled off from the street- small but delightful for a city hotel. Breakfast has a number of choices...not gourmet but good enought o hold you over until lunch in one of the many great restaurants in town. My husband and I booked thru Expedia and got a lower rate than booking directly. We will stay here again.

CGM22,

Thank you for taking the time to post a review! We are so happy that you found our "flavor" of SpringHill Suites to be your favorite! We are a 4th Generation SpringHill Suites hotel, so for your future travels, you can look for these and you will find more of the same European/Contemporary decor. I'm thrilled that you liked the layout of the room, as well as the pool. We can't wait to see you again soon!

Sincerely,

This hotel is in a perfect location for everything you want to see and do in Savannah-Historic District. Rooms, lobby, and breakfast area are very clean. Breakfast food was good. Valet parking was a bummer @ $20/day, but there is metered parking on the street and a parking garage for a lot less $ across the way.

BUT to me more important than any of that stuff is the customer service and how you feel when you're there!

This hotel has the most helpful, polite, and absolutely customer oriented staff that I have ever experienced at a hotel! Everyone made my 80 year old Mom, sister and I feel very welcome and taken care of! Sorry - I can't remember all the names, some of the "stars" Ronald in the breakfast area was always smiling and responsive if we needed something! Judy at the concierge desk was at our beck and call with suggestions on where to go, what to see and where to eat (and made reservations when needed). Lee the manager hung out in the lobby actually visiting with the guests - he wasn't sitting at a desk in the back room. He really wanted to know how our stay was going!

The Hotel has a wonderful location near the edge of downtown Savannah--very close to the Juliette Gordon Low house and within easy walking distance to any downtown Savannah attraction. The hotel is in good shape--spacious room and nice outdoor, heated pool. Staff was very helpful. The only downside--the quality of food for the free breakfast was substandard. The eggs were the worst I have had in years. Just a poor effort.

wsflyer,

Thank you for staying with us, and for taking the time to post a review on TripAdvisor! We are so happy that you enjoyed our proximity to the major attractions in the Historic District. It is also great to hear that you found the staff helpful! I sincerely apologize that you found the breakfast items to be substandard. The items that we purchase for our breakfast are the SpringHill Suites standard items, but we are constantly looking for ways to improve upon this. Thank you so much for your comments!

My husband and I just returned from Savannah, GA where we stayed at the SpringHill Suites. The staff was extremely nice and helpful from check-in to room-service to check-out. We were very pleased with the service. The location of the hotel is great. Right in the middle of town you can walk to everything.
The pool was nice. Heated. However, the furniture in the pool area was moldy, and there was mold in the corners of the pool. The hot tub was also moldy.
The room its self was huge. It was very modern and had a pretty good view of the bridge.
We would stay here again. Great space for the price.
