To repeat what others have said you will find Dan funny, knowledgable and fast paced. If you take your tour with him first you will save yourself time in finding out what is woth seeing and you will probably cover many of the places you thought about stopping at while on histour. The two hours go by very quickly and as others have said he plans his walks so carefuly he will have standing in the shade at every stop. Definitely ask him about places to eat. Reasons not to go with SD; you don't like history, you don't like quick wit or humor or you don't like to walk in a beautiful city and if that's the case I feel sorry for you.

My husband and I took an afternoon walking tour with Savannah Dan. It's one of those walking tours where you meet the guide on a street corner, and I know from experience they're always a crap shoot because you never know whether you'll get a good guide. That's not the case here because the guide you get is going too be Dan. And, you don't have to worry about finding him on the street. The man is 6' 5" and wears a striped summer suit and a broad brimmed hat.

It was a fairly hot day and we were a little concerned that we might get uncomfortable but Dan smoothly guided our group from one of Savannah's beautiful squares to the next, always finding a shady spot and coming up with an interesting bit of local history or humorous anecdote to share. He provided us with a good understanding of the founding and development of Savannah, making the history truly interesting and fun with his deep knowledge of the place and his charming presentation. He was more than willing to answer any questions and even made suggestions on places to eat and things to do. (Just a side note: if there is someplace you know you want to eat in Savannah, make your reservations the day before or even earlier. The popular restaurants get booked up.)

If you are looking for an interesting and fun introduction to Savannah, Dan is definitely your man. We really enjoyed his tour.

We took Savannah Dan's walking tour and absolutely loved every minute. He is very knowledgeable and has a real sense of humor. We learned so much and couldn't believe how fast the 90 minutes flew by. We highly recommend taking this enjoyable tour.

This tour was fantastic! Not only was it fun and informative, but Dan gave great insight into the ins and outs of Savannah. Would definitely do it again when we go back to Savannah.
