“Charming and Lovely”
Reviewed January 11, 2018 for a stay in January 2017

Staying at The Live Oaks House was truly a treat and a privilege. Charming and lovely with the essential Savannah curb appeal, the buttercup yellow house sits just across the street from one of the open neighborhood gardens, Warren Square. Parking is limited everywhere in Savannah, but the Live Oaks House sits kitty-corner to a public parking garage, which is as convenience as it get's in this part of town. The general location is prime! Barely a two block walk from the river Street restaurants and pubs, just around the corner from the famous Leopold's Ice Cream Shop, and a simple stroll from numerous other restaurants and Savannah staples. I personally walked everywhere, and I could not have been happier with this houses close proximity to everything!

If you are looking to truly indulge in the historic charm of Savannah, staying here is the way to do it. The house is a genuine piece of Savannah's architectural history; and is mentioned in the Old Town Savannah Trolley tours that pass by. It was fun to wave at the passing tourists and pretend like I owned the place.

However, my favorite part about staying here was that I could have the historical Savannah home experience, without compromising my preference for modern comforts and amenities. The interior is carefully decorated with lovely art and antiques, however it had all the upgrades and modern touches one requires to be comfortable in 2018. The home is very clean and well cared for. The upgraded and well stocked kitchen had stainless steel appliances and granite countertops with plenty of room for entertaining. The bedrooms were large with big, soft, comfortable beds and linens. I stayed in the top floor room, up a spiral staircase. With it's slanted attic-like ceiling, the room had a whimsical and cozy feel, and the double bed was one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in!

Everything about the Live Oaks House was beautiful, charming, comfortable, and convenient. The house felt like a home; southern comfort at it's finest. I hope to come back again!

“Everything you could want from a holiday home in Savannah.”
Reviewed January 10, 2018 for a stay in July 2017

I stayed at Live Oaks in July 2017 and it was a very pleasant stay. Comfortable, clean, modern and with very professional owners who responded quickly to every query. It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Rooms: the rooms are cosy and well equipped. The whole house was very clean and the beds are comfortable with plenty of amenities to make it your home away from home. It certainly has all the charm one would expect from a classic house in Savannah and it makes you feel like you're part of the city. It comes with washer/dryer, fully equipped kitchen and very high quality decor.

Location: centrally located near the main Washington Square and within walking distance of Emmet Park and the riverside. Close to lots of bars, restaurants and shops all within walking distance.

Overall this was a great place to stay, great value and is recommended. The owners have done a super job with this place; if their holiday rental home is this comfortable one can only imagine how nice their own home is.

“Southern charm”
Reviewed January 10, 2018 for a stay in April 2017

I rented this charming townhouse for a family vacation in 2017 (older parents, uncle and aunt, me). The house is lovely and beautifully decorated. Location is excellent as well, with many fine restaurants and attractions just a short walk away (and you should walk, so you can experience the well-maintained parks, and admire the architecture of the surrounding historical buildings). If you do drive, there is convenient street parking all around the neighborhood.

We had a wonderful stay, and plan to come back again.
