“Couldn't have been better”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 25, 2013

I had the pleasure of spending four nights there with my wife and about 22 friends. From the minute we walked through the door till the last walk out the door we felt welcomed and comfortable. The staff esp Leslie and her father Keith were absolutely a pleasure to talk with. They were willing to give us suggestions of places to party and eat to just sit down with us and enjoy a nice conversation. No matter what we needed they were attentive to our needs. The breakfasts every morning were amazing. The Dresser Palmer is absolutely gorgeous but at the same time warm and inviting. From the sitting to the various areas out back to the long front porch lined with comfortable chairs there was never a time that you couldn't find a place to sit and have a relaxing cocktail and conversation. The room was very clean and spacious. We had a room on the lower level so it was extremely quiet and dark making for a restful nights sleep. If you are looking for a nice get away in the Savannah area don't look any further then the Dresser Palmer you won't be let down.

Room Tip: The Wysteria room had it's own side entrance which made it very convient when coming in later at...

Hey Kevin M!

What a fun group you guys were! We really had a great time this St. Patty's Day with your group in the house. We are always eager to help lead you to some great eats and party locations because we love our city so much! We are always glad to help out in any way when it comes to making your stay in Savannah better. Those lower "garden level" rooms are quaint and so comfortable and make for a good slumber. We are excited to have you back!

We love the DPH. The front porch and back gardens/verandas and wisteria draped iron are magical enough. But inside is something real, authentic & unpretentious yet grand. The staff is so giving and accommodating, it's more like a friend in Sav helping you navigate a customized experience. We have not been disappointed once. Great food, chat, apps and full bar. It's a block from Forsyth Park, Leoci's Trattoria is a 1/2 block away and the address is where you want to be. There is a peace at this particular B&B that is rare. The connection to this city is so much better when you are based in a place you love that you can count on for direction and planning. We have never seen any better Inn employees. Even their housekeeping did such a great job. We returned to a fire in the room yesterday, it's the little things...

Hey TJAATLANTA!

Such an AMAZING review. We love our return guests, we get to be like family! I'm actually staring out at the sun drenched veranda right now and I have the doors propped open so the Wisteria wafts in through the house. It is our pleasure and such a treat to be able to share our beautiful Savannah with all of our beloved guests. The history, architecture, beauty, and unfathomable charm keep us here and happy. We are looking forward to having you again soon!

I used this B & B as a Savannah get-away to spend time with my mother 3/19 and 3/20/2013 and we were quite pleased. The new innkeeper, a young woman who loves to cook (and CAN cook!), was very friendly and so accommading to all our needs. Dinner reservations and complimentary pick up at the Dresser/Palmer House for the city tours were among the things she would gladly arrange for you. The bed we slept in was amazingly comfortable and my mother and I slept very well after our busy days. This B & B also offers complimentary glasses of wine along with some cheese and crackers and fruit each day between 4p and 6p and that became a very nice social time to meet and talk with the other guests. And breakfast was very delicious both days; I requested the recipe for one of the mornings it was that good! This B & B is also a short walking distance to several historical sites including the beautiful Forsyth Park.

Room Tip: Go on line to the website and view the rooms; each has their own charm. The rooms sell out quickly.

Hi Christine P,

Thanks for the praises! We all love to cook for our guests here at the inn. In fact, I just pulled out a fresh banana cake I'm getting ready to slather with browned butter cream cheese icing for today's treat... If it even makes it to the guests. ;-) We are always glad to share our recipes and we love suggestions and new recipes, too! A good night's sleep is exactly what you need after walking around all day and we are glad we could provide that for you!

Beautiful house, in a great location, with a very friendly and knowledgeable staff. The breakfasts were delicious! Lots to see and do in the area, but cozying up inside is nice as well. Right near a lovely park, and everything you would want to do is in reasonable walking distance. We would definitely go back. I'd like to come when the wisteria on the rear patio is in bloom. I bet it is stunning.

Room Tip: This is a bed and breakfast in a historic house. Every room is unique, and we had trouble deciding...

Dear Debbie M,

Come back... stay longer! It was so fun getting to know you and we are so happy you had a great time. Forsyth Park, just a block away, is such a great location to walk around and enjoy the overwhelming charm and beauty of Historic Savannah. The Wisteria is blooming now and with all this rain lately, it's sure to just explode with blooms on the next super sunny day. Thanks again for such kind words.

We received our DPH stay as a Christmas gift from our daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren. Our stay was from March 13 - 15, 2013. What can I say, the DPH was an excellent B&B, Leslie and staff welcomed and treated you like family and went above and beyond to meet all your needs. We really enjoyed our stay, in fact we stayed an extra night, got to see the St. Patrick's Day Parade and really had a fantastic time. We were so happy with the DPR that we are planning on returning next year for another visit. Savannah is a very historical city with plenty to see and do, everyone is friendly and helpful. Thank you again DPR for an excellent visit.

Stayed here March 11-12, 2013. A wonderful place to stay to immerse yourself in Old Savannah!
Enjoyed the delicious breakfasts, and the afternoon hors d'oeuvres. (Thanks for the recipe, Kolin!)
The atmosphere was low-key and comfortable, with an underlying elegance. We would have loved to stay longer, and will definitely visit again! Missing those front porch rocking chairs!

Hey Karen S!

Thanks SO MUCH! We really enjoyed getting to visit with you. The wine hour is such a great way for us to relax a bit and get to know everyone and we are never stingy with our recipes. Giving our recipes out is our way of helping you relive your stay with us and it entices you to come back! I know Indiana has been getting lots of snow lately... we've been getting rain but in between the showers, the sun comes and creates the perfect front porch weather :) Can't wait to see you again.

we bought a groupon for our long weekend in march. we never never could have afforded it otherwise. we loved being so close to the park and the whole town. walking to the river from there was only 25 min walk not far at all. walking the town is the best way to see it after our tours. oh the B & B.... breakfast was delish. one day we had an out of the world french toast with lots of peaches baked on. protions were on the smallish side . the 2nd day was a quiche with sausage etc. very good and filling. the cookies we got one afternoon to enjoy were very tasty. Kolin we saw the most of and he was a joy to work with. very attentive to our needs. the room, confederate jasmin was so neat. brick walls, really cool room. beds need replacing and it squeaked bad which woke me during the night. being an old house early in the morning before 7 am there was alot of noise above our heads. it was from them geting ready for breakfast. we loved the front porch to sit on. we loved the place and it was our first b & B. if we could afford too, we would go back for another visit!

Hi brnsofia!

Savannah is the best place to experience a B&B! We were so glad to help you out and show you a different side of staying in Savannah. We do apologize for waking you so early. We'll definitely take into account the squeaky beds and have them tightened and taken care of properly, thank you for the suggestion! We do rely on guest feedback so that we can always improve for our future guests :) Thanks so much!
