Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed July 10, 2013 via mobile

We spent our honeymoon here and had the most amazing service. We loved the breakfast and the evening wine receptions as well as the nightly deserts. We were close to everthing and loved the harbor view! We will be coming back here every year to celebrate our anniversary, we loved it!

This is our third stay at the Olde Harbour Inn here in Savannah, and I have to say that I love this Inn! It is quintessential Savannah Historic District, and the location (right on River Street) absolutely cannot be beat.

The staff are always lovely here -- very helpful and friendly. The rooms are very nice, with great atmosphere -- not luxurious, or fancy, but very nice. Of the historic Inns in Savannah, this is definitely the most 'family friendly.' The rooms are apartment-like, with a separate sitting area, small kitchenette (full size fridge, sink, and microwave), and average size bedroom. The furniture is okay -- again, not really anything fancy -- comfortable and and homey. The rooms have a really relaxing feel -- especially nice to come back to after a long day out wandering around the squares and River Street.

Everything is kept super-clean, the linens are lovely (I get so tired of horrible inexpensive hotel towels), and they provide plenty of them.

And let's not forget the the wine and cheese reception, breakfast, and turn-down service with complementary ice cream!

The Inn is, again, right between Bay and River Street -- just a short walk to any of the trolley pick-ups, shops, and restaurants (super-close to The Shrimp Factory & Joe's Crab Shack, and several others). The windows look out onto the river -- excellent for 4th of July or first-Friday stays, if it rains, it has a great view of the fireworks!

One thing to note -- the entrance is actually on the Factor's Walk, rather than on River or Bay Street. This means finding a little alley entrance off of Bay Street, technically in-between River and Bay. It can sometimes be a little tricky to find the first time, but once you do, it's absolutely no problem getting in! There is ample parking down the street as well.

We have stayed at most of the historic Savannah Inns now, and while most of them are lovely, for value, comfort, location (to River Street -- if the Market Square area is your preference, it's several blocks away), and family-friendliness, this is definitely my favorite!

Room Tip: Parking is available on Factors' Walk. Just turn off of Bay Street onto the River Street connec...

This hotel is located right on River Street, best possible location and has 2 bedroom apartment like rooms which are perfect for families. It is a 3 star type place but very reasonably priced for the size. They did tell us they will be remodeling the rooms as they did the lobby which is greatly improved. Housekeeping left something to be desired however I must say, Kenny, who seemed to do a little of everything from preparing breakfast, to helping us find parking, to dropping ice cream off at our room, was the nicest guy you could ever hope to meet. My 4 year old son chatted it up with him and he alone made our stay such a wonderful experience. We will return in a few months and look forward to seeing Kenny the next time!

Being right on River street, the location was perfect. We were just steps away from numerous shops and restaurants. Staff was super friendly and accommodating. We did have to request our evening ice cream because it wasn't waiting in freezer as promised and turn down service was absent also. Small details though. Really enjoyed our stay.

Really good location with parking. As promised we received Klondike bars in a refrigerator each night. However, lack of attention to detail gives this only a 4 star rating. For instance, bed was turned back only once, dirty wine glasses were not removed from our room and robes were not laid out as promised. I know this is knit picking, but one expects what is promised. The breakfast was more than adequate with bacon, sausage, eggs, toast, bagels and assorted fruit juices. The wine, cheese and small sandwiches in the afternoon were a treat. The staff was knowlegeable and friendly. The rooms are a bit dated, but spotless. You probably can't do better anywhere in the historic area.

Room Tip: Pay the extra money for rooms on the upper floors.

check in went perfect. breakfast was perfect overlooking the harbor. for the price you can't beat it. you get 48 hour parking all over the city with your room. plus most of the tours come and pick you up at the hotel or drop you off at the hotel.
plus walk down the stars onto riverstreet. you can walk to all the bars and resturants. pirate house resturant is right across the street. I mean we parked the car and didn't move it at all except to go to tybee island beach in the mornings.
the room you get a kitchen, stove, microwave, livingroom, refrig, and fast internet, all the rooms is seperated. I walked in, and it was a apartment.
bathtub to take a hotbath and shower.
also you get free breakfast in the morning. sausage, eggs, ceral, its in a classy dinning room and you get free wine and chesse tasting in the evenings.
awsome inn. after my long hours of research from hotels, bed and breakfast. This is the only hotel to stay at in savannah. for the price, staff, location, free stuff, parking. you won't find any better.

The beds are little bit stiff.

Room Tip: check out the cupcake shops, wet willies if you like to drink, stay away from tourist trap restuara...

Yes it could use some updating but the lobby has been recently renovated very nicely so maybe rooms are next. Parking is tricky but that is not an uncommon situation in this area. The staff is always super friendly and accommodating and overall it is a charming place to stay. Plus we recently found out they have pet friendly rooms!
