“Best Hotel experince”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 22, 2013

I booked this hotel because of the reviews and we were not disappointed. This was the first bed and breakfast we have stayed at. I surprised my wife who would not have been interested in staying in a historical home. We stayed two nights. Both of us had the best hotel experience period. It was not the room or the house which were both wonderfully done. But the owner Leslie and Sonya really made the experience great. The breakfast was outstanding and sharing the table with other guests makes you feel like your at the family table. They answered any questions, helped with directions, offered to drop us off at the restaurant we had made reservations because of the rain, she even served really great coffee later in the day when ever we wanted. Leslie and Sonya both shared about the home and Savannah. We can not say enough about the time spent at the hotel, it really made the trip the best part of our stay. You can not get a finer breakfast and it's included. Book it, you'll love it!

Room Tip: We were the last to book so we got the smaller room to chose from, but it was still very nice.

Wow. We loved this place. Stayed in the Garden Rm. access to the patio, private bath, quiet, incredible decor and all the extras. (cute resort robes, etc) The hostess is extremely knowledgeable about Savannah's history and lovely attractions. Although we were there just one day, we managed to get out on the river for a ferry cruise (free) and zip back and forth to the inn from the riverfront when needed on the free trolley. Both were recommendations from the innkeeper. We also walked down Bull St. (gorgeous!) and visited the Telfair complex. River St. is cute as well. The breakfast at the Catherine Ward House is incredible. Met some very lovely guests there. Will choose this inn again.

Room Tip: They are all beautiful. You'll love them.

We loved our stay at the Catherine Ward House Inn. The house is a genuine historic Savannah property, beautifully restored and renovated, and furnished beautifully.
Our room was spacious and luxuriously decorated, with a beautiful bathroom, plenty of storage for all our luggage and travel things, and with a gorgeous king size bed. It was very private, overlooking a peaceful and lush courtyard.
With only a small number of rooms, and a fantastic cooked breakfast in the dining room of the house itself, we felt like we were lucky houseguests, not just paying customers.
Leslie has a real passion for her business, and the house itself, and this shows in her attention to detail, and wonderful service. We really felt like we were her guests in a private home.
I cannot say enough about the fantastic service and welcoming atmosphere of this hotel, Leslie and her amazing staff made us feel right at home, had lots of tips for things to do and see in Savannah, and on more than one occasion went above and beyond what we would expect from any hotel manager - Leslie really is a hostess in all ways. Our flight from New York was delayed by 9 hours, bringing us into Savannah after midnight. Leslie arranged for a taxi to meet us at the airport, and stayed up to welcome us, even though it was after 1am.
We found the location perfect. It is a reasonable walk to the downtown area, but almost right on Forsyth Park. The walk to restaurants took us no more than 10 minutes at a very easy pace, and I think the best way to experience Savannah is on foot. The historic squares and houses are best viewed when walking! We also loved being in a small and intimate hotel, away from the touristy bustle of the riverfront area.
A total Savannah gem. Highly recommended!!

Adorable, clean room. Nice setting. Bit of a long walk to downtown, but as we had our puppy with us, it was actually a good thing. Proximity to Forsyth Park was great. Breakfast was tasty and lovely. Only gripe would be, the owner is not dog friendly. She ALLOWS dogs because competitively she needs to, but she definitely doesn't LIKE dogs. It's ok, Chester didn't take it personally. We would definitely stay here again.

The Catherine Ward House is an exceptionally relaxing Bed and Breakfast. Where to begin? I met up my long-distance boyfriend in Savannah and the moment we stepped into our room, the Cosmopolitan Room, we knew we made the right choice for our rendezvous. Between the double shower, luxurious california king bed, fireplace, double-sided mirror that was also a tv, large amount of space, impeccable decorating and our private porch we weren't sure if we were ever going to leave the room. Alas, the next morning the aroma of Leslie and Sonja's breakfast did manage to pull us out of bed. The breakfasts served at Catherine Ward House deserve to be featured in an award-winning restaurant. From fresh fruit served in beautiful martini glasses donned with a mint sprig to the unique dishes like kugel, I truly do not know where you will find another Bed and Breakfast with such charm and personal touch. Leslie and Sonja were always ready to take us somewhere out of their own time if we didn't want to walk and were always on top of the local activities. We enjoyed meeting other guests and made new friends. The sitting room was comfortable enough for us to sit and look at the lovely books and huge, well-organized binder of local menus. In case our lodging wasn't perfect enough, the advice and help we received from Leslie and Sonja about where to go, eat and see was invaluable. I do not have a single complaint about our stay and cannot wait to return again. You MUST stay here!!! Look no further

SAVANNAH - CATHERINE WARD HOUSE INN 6/20/13

This is my first review, one which I never thought I'd write, but our experience was too good to be left without comment. it all started with Leslie, the Inn owner who greeted us with such warmth that we knew immediately that we had chosen the right place. We sat in the living room that was decorated in an eclectic mix of historic & modern, and was airy and comfortable. Leslie offered to assist us in any way that would make our stay in Savannah memorable, and with her extensive help, it was! Leslie took us through the house and to our room which was in a separate building. It was huge and inviting with a king-size bed and modern decor. It had a kitchen nook with fridge and microwave, and an amazing bathroom with a glass enclosed shower. We felt right at home. Although this all seemed too good to be true, the best was yet to come. Breakfast! Simple, yet generous, imaginative, and elegantly served. Day one: fresh fruit cup, ham & eggs cooked to perfection, a delicious warm scone, and plenty of OJ and coffee. Day two: fresh fruit cup with different fruits, eggs accompanied by pork tenderloin (yes!)_with an amazing teriyaki sauce, coffee cake, OJ, coffee. Day three: Fresh fruit, the most deliciously different french toast ever, (eggs too if you want them) link sausages, …. etc. It all starts with Leslie who sets the tone and delivers every time. We were so taken that we added an extra day to our planned two-day stay. In over 50 years of travel including many, many B&B's, this was the best one we've ever experienced. Thank you Leslie.

Leslie and Sonya are absolutely the best B&B inn-keepers possible! Everything was so perfect - the breakfast (plentiful, fresh and delicious), their hospitality and the location! We loved our stay. Leslie and Sonya go above & beyond to make your stay amazing from making great recommendations to making sure you are comfortable! One example would be how they went out of their way to help my husband who wasn't feeling good due to his allergies. The B&B is not located right in the center of everything but that's perfectly okay because it is a nice quiet block near Forsyth Park & walking around Savannah is part of the charm and experience. Would definitely go back to this B&B and recommend others to go as well!
