Sit down to a Southern breakfast at the elegant dining room table. Have a second cup of coffee. Sink into a cozy armchair with a book and a cup of tea. Or find yourself rapt in lively conversation over fresh home-made crab dip on crackers and a glass of pale chablis. Let Jane and Rocky welcome you and pamper you in every way imaginable.

They will, and with such grace and pleasantry that you may want to linger all afternoon at Amethyst Inn. It is a charming, historic B&B with exquisite comfortable accommodations, and it sits in the shade of Live Oak trees under the drooping Spanish Moss in this most beautiful of all historic Southern cities, Savannah.

There is so much to do and to see in Savannah. Jane and Rocky will point you in the right direction. They will guide you to the best restaurants, show you their menus and even call the proprietor for you.

If you are fascinated by the beauty, charm and history of the South, how can you not visit Savannah? And when you do visit Savannah, how can you stay anywhere but Amethyst Inn at Sarah's Garden?

This is at least our fourth or fifth time here at Amethyst Inn at Sarah's Garden. My wife and I live in nearby Charleston, and we walk everywhere there. This inn is within walking distance of the Broughton Street shopping and dining scene and all of the delightful squares in Savannah. The first time we stayed we brought our cocker spaniel, who has since gone on to dog heaven. The innkeepers, Jane and Rocky Reed, have a cute black cocker so we were very pleased to be able to pet such a well-behaved dog. The breakfasts were southern hospitality style large portioned affairs, with coffee, juice, omelets, grits, sausage, cornbread, some other bread (!) and fruit. Lunch was unnecessary after such bounty. After we ate, we enjoyed some conversation with Jean and Rocky. They had lots of recommendations of places to shop and dine. Afterwards, we walked to the shopping district and bought some housewares. Then we came back and enjoyed some wine and appetizers. Dinner followed at Sapphire Grill, and we walked back to the inn for a satisfying night's sleep. Thank you for a great time.Jeff & Cindi G.

We stayed with Jane & Rocky for a quick (but wonderful) girls weekend. When we got there, I think Jane was just as excited to have us there as we were to be there. She recommended many things for us to do and see, and all were right on the money. The Inn is absolutely beautiful, with wonderful grounds and a relaxing pool. Our room was clean and cozy, and worked well for us. The food was excellent, and so was the company and the conversations. I can't wait for our next trip...this time I think we'll bring the families ;o)

We spent three nights here and thoroughly enjoyed it. We were on a first visit to Savannah to see the legended historical center. Jane and Rocky are outstanding hosts. They create a very welcoming feeling. Jane is extremely solicitous of your needs, especially helpful in suggesting things to see, how to get around, and places to eat. The house is large and roomy. We felt very comfortable sharing someone else's house. Some B&Bs have a different vibe. Here the kitchen is always open, so you feel very much at home and free to visit with Jane as she prepares the food. Some places have a lot of dos and don'ts. Here was more like your own home. The location was excellent. It is away from the hustle and bustle in a residential area, but close enough to walk to everything of interest in the historical district, the waterfront, and downtown.

Spent the weekend with Jane and Rocky and had a wonderfrul experience. The room was very nice and the pool was very refreshing due to the 95 degree + temperatures. The meals were excellent and Rocky and Jane were perfect hosts. Location of the Inn compared to the downtown area was great.

My friends and I were looking for a fun, relaxed girl's weekend getaway. Thanks to the gracious hosts at Amethyst Inn, we got even more than we had hoped for. The house is gorgeous and beautifully landscaped, and the hosts, Jane and Rocky, are the perfect people to run the place. They are open and warm, and always willing to offer advice without being overbearing. Helpful and fun, we plan on all returning with our families in near future. A must visit bed and breakfast!

What a wonderful B&B that has so much charm and character. Jane & Rocky take great pride in their home and are gracious hosts for their city. They both bend over backwards to help make your stay truly wonderful. Jane is a killer cook! I loved the breakfast. You must ask her to make her grits. We were from Pittsburgh and I had grits while living in Texas but Jane's were truly wonderful! Rocky & Jane make you feel welcome as soon as you step foot in their home. They will help you make reservations and provide a fountain of information of what you can do and where everything is located. We are looking forward to returning in the near future. They truly made the visit a great experience.
