“Excellent modern hotel, great location”
Reviewed July 31, 2013

After a long flight from Sydney, this was exactly the hotel we needed. The bed was extremely comfortable, the linens were lovely, and the air con was efficient and quiet. The hotel is very close to the historic district without being in the middle of the party so we could relax and recover before heading out again.
Tip: do not miss out on the truly excellent cocktails that their bartenders make.

Jo P, thank you for your visit from so far away! I am glad you enjoyed the hotel and our cocktails. I am sure the bartender told you that our Manhattan won audience favorite in a national competition. Hope to see you back soon, Matt

Like everyone else, we were greeted with wine...Our last minute rate for a Saturday night was $289, which quickly inflated to $365, Taxes, fees and parking added up quickly. We found the hotel to be "as advertised". Upscale and modern, the huge bath tub was my wife's favorite thing..We were on the 5th floor facing the square..Now, remembering it was a Saturday night, the square was pretty rowdy up until 4 am....yes 4 am. We were awoken many time by police activity, and "overserved" people cruising the square and honking horns.. We opted to move to the other end of River St for a quieter experience. (see our review for the Holiday Inn Mulberry, historic district.) Perhaps our experience would have been better if we simply "joined the crowd", but there is only so much and so long we could party..LOL We would probably not go back, for the money, you can do better,

Room Tip: Rooms away from square and on upper floors may be more quieter

My husband and I stayed at Andaz for our anniversary weekend and had a fabulous time! We were greeted upon check-in with a glass of wine and were informed that we were upgraded to a suite facing the square. The room was clean, modern and had everything we needed. The bed was super comfortable and the bathroom was nice and spacious.

The pool area was very nice, though a little small and there were only 5 chaise lounge chairs for the whole pool area. Instead, there were really cute cabanas that we lounged in, as well as a full service bar. The fire pit was also a really nice feature, as we came back to the hotel after dinner one night and enjoyed drinks and cigars by the pit. I would recommend keeping it open until midnight though, as 10 pm was a little early for it to close down.

We ate the Harvest Table breakfast both mornings, which was delicious. It included fresh fruits, yogurts, toast, and an omelette station.

The hotel was also VERY convenient and close to the river, shopping and tons of restaurants. We didn't use our car at all the whole weekend and enjoyed the central location.

We will definitely recommend this hotel to friends of ours and on our next trip back to Savannah, we'll stay here for sure!

Picked the Andez based upon trip advisor reviews and it did not disappoint. Our room was beautiful and spotlessly clean. The service was amazing. Our air conditioner was not cooling properly and we called. They immediately took care of it. We also asked for extra towels and that was handled promptly. The location is wonderful and right in the middle of everything. We parked our car when we arrived and did not use it until time to leave. I loved the hallways, the pool and the exercise room. Also was nice to have a filled minibar with complementary sodas and water. When we return to Savannah (and we will) I would stay at the Andez without question. I would have to put it on the same level of service as the Ritz Carlton without the price. Stay here and I guarantee that you will not be sorry. Thank you Andez for a wonderful stay.

I have never been in a hotel with a nicer staff! The hotel is in a perfect location. The bed was so comfortable. It is a contemporary room in a historical location in a building that blends with the old. The room, however, is modern. No complaints.

My family and I had the pleasure of staying in Savannah's Andaz hotel for four days in July. We were all so impressed with just about every aspect of this hotel and will definitely stay there again in the future.

*It was very unique in that the entire hotel had a really nice modern/contemporary feel to it with traditional touches mixed in that tied in nicely with the character of the historic district it's in.
*The staff at the front door (greeting us every time we arrived or left the hotel), the staff at the front desk and the staff cleaning the rooms were all extremely polite, kind and helpful.
*The lobby - like the rest of the hotel - was extremely stylish and had a nice, open feel to it. They had a big bowl of fresh fruit out each day, and the kids were so excited one day to see it filled with fresh Georgia peaches.
*We also really enjoyed the complimentary snacks and drinks that were replenished in our room each day.
*The outdoor hotel pool was very nice as was the surrounding pool area with nice lounging areas and an outdoor fireplace.
*The location of the hotel was also perfect for a trip to Savannah. It's just one block away from River Street's shopping and restaurants; it overlooks Ellis Square; it's also one block away from the City Market's live music, shopping and restaurants and from Paula Deen's Lady & Sons restaurant and shop. The tour trolleys stop right at or one block down from the hotel.
*The only slight con we noticed was parking. When we first arrived, we had a hard time figuring out where to park near the lobby to check-in (not wanting to pay the cost of valet parking), so we ended up driving around the block a few times. Eventually we decided to go ahead and pay to park in the underground garage (entrance on Whitaker St.) and walk up to the lobby from there. It was a bit of a walk, but not too bad. Valet would've been easier but would've cost $23/day. Since we didn't drive much during our stay (we were able to walk pretty much everywhere we went), we found it to be cheaper to park our own car in the parking garage.

We absolutely loved this hotel, will definitely stay here again in the future, and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a great hotel in Savannah! Loved it, loved it! We didn't want to leave!

While I've traveled to Savannah many times, this was my first time at this hotel and I really loved it. The hotel is in a perfect location within walking distance of anything you'd want to do in Savannah. The hotel staff was friendly and always helpful and ensured we always knew where we were going. The room was chic and beautifully decorated. There are many nice touches here including a beverage while checking in, bowls of fruit in the lobby for you to take, and everything in the mini bar, except alcohol, is complimentary. I've never stayed anywhere where everything in your mini-bar is free: all of the non-alcoholic beverages and snacks! And they were replaced everyday - now that's southern hospitality! Great hotel in the heart of the historic district!
