Our trip to Savannah GA was really good. The Avia Savannah Hotel was excellent. Everyone speaks to you every day from the front desk staff to the cleaning staff to the valet parkers at the front of the hotel. Very friendly indeed. There was construction in the hotel re-doing the restaurant but we heard nothing. During this time they set up the restaurant in one of the grand salons. In September the hotel changes names to the Andaz Savannah. Andaz is still under Hyatt name. It is a block away from River Street where all the shops, restaurants, etc are but the choice of restaurants in all directions is amazing. We walked all over. It was quite easy to get around and many tourist things to do - horse & carriage rides, trolley rides, walking tours, riverboat cruises, etc etc.
It did rain every day but it would rain and instantly it got sucked right up so you didn’t even know it rained. The weather was really nice 86-90 degrees. We were told at that time of year it’s more in the 100 degrees so we hit a cool time of year!!!!
Even on the street you have a map and someone approaches you asking “can I help you find something or where do you want to go”. A very friendly and remarkable city.More
