The hotel was everything we were expecting and more! Loved waking up to our made to order breakfast by Chef Mario! We wanted for nothing during our stay, including afternoon appetizers, wine, and late night desserts-all of which were included in our reasonable rate. We will stay again just because of the staff! Great location! Everything was within a 15 minute walking distance. Perfect in every way if you like historical places and if you like to be pampered!

This was our second visit to the Gastonian. We brought our 80+ yr old Mom's and they just loved it as well! The staff were helpful and friendly and the social time in the late afternoon allowed us to meet people from all over , while drinking wine and having tasty hors d'oeuvres. We walked to Forsyth Park which is close. The staff called peditaxis to take us to dinner. Really enjoy meeting the young people who do this. It is a great way to see the buildings and parks. Breakfast was delicious. We sat in the kitchen and conversed with the friendly staff. Love the fireplace in the room, jacuzzi and comfy bed.

This was the most romantic stay ever for us and we have been together for over 30 years. Savannah is wonderful, the Gastonian itself is a treasure, but it is the staff makes the difference. Lola was the concierge and Jamil was the bellman who greeted us. They made us feel instantly at home, answered any questions we asked, took care of our bags, and even parked our car for us. We had the privilege of having breakfast in James and Ron's kitchen and those wonderful gentleman turned our breakfasts into a dining experience to remember. Having a breakfast tray brought to your room may be luxurious, but eating in James and Ron's kitchen as they make your food for you is something to treasure forever. We also want to thank Mario who helped James on the last day and made sure we had all of our belongings out of the storage area and safely into our car before we had to leave Savannah.

We were able to walk without difficulty in July to all of the sites in Savannah we wanted to see. If you visit Savannah and stay anywhere else but the Gastonian, you're missing the reasons for going to Savannah in the first place.

Room Tip: Gaston is a quiet street and the A/C cools the room without noticeable fan noise. The curtains keep...

The Gastonian is in walking distance to everything necessary in Savannah, and the entire staff is great! The common area times offer great food and a chance to mingle with tourists from across the world! Also, Walter is quite possibly the sweetest guy ever!

Room Tip: Honeymoon suite is incredible!

My boyfriend and I spent our last night in Savannah last week in the Caracalla Suite and we loved it! The service was awesome (Walter in particular) and our room was to die for. It was romantic and luxurious with very tall ceilings, the jacuzzi was huge. We honestly didn't want to leave the room for dinner because we wanted to spend more time there.

We took our port from the dessert served in the evening out onto the terrace in the back which was tranquil and relaxing. In the morning we had breakfast on the patio in front of our room overlooking Gaston st. My only complaints would be that the breakfast was a tad lackluster and there are a few things in the room that could use maintenance, but I found them to be understandable in such an old building.

Overall I would highly recommend the Gastonian and we hope to return. The location is perfect and the staff are all very friendly.

Room Tip: The Caracalla suite was jaw dropping. If you can book it, you must.

Lesley S.,

Thank you so much for your review! Walter is truly one-in-a-million, and we are pleased to hear that you were happy with the service that all of our staff provided. We know that we are very lucky to live in a town as beautiful as Savannah, and I like to think that shows in how we care for our guests.

That Caracalla Suite certainly is special, you are right about that. I am a hometown girl, and I have not found anything else like it in Savannah. We are so thrilled that you enjoyed it so much!

We are actually looking to revamp our breakfast menu at this time. We offer a lot of selections on the weekdays, and are looking to expand our menu to feature a gourmet rotating menu on the weekends. We would love to have you back to try our new menu the next time that you are in town!

My wife and I along with my sister and brother-in-law celebrated our respective anniversaries in Savannah the w/e of 6/27 and stayed at the Gastonian. The location is excellent - a little removed from the busier areas of the historic district - which is perfect. Right down the block from the beautiful Forsyth Park and still within walking distance to all. Our rooms were beautiful and the hotel was charming. The biggest hit, however, was the wonderful staff. From A to Z they could not have been friendlier or more accommodating. Southern hospitality is definitely not just a saying at the Gastonian!
