“Some good voices, sophomoric jokes”
Reviewed October 1, 2012

Good musicians, some good voices. Good pace. Even though jokes were sophomoric, they were delivered well.

“Branson in Savannah”
Reviewed September 30, 2012

Not a bad seat in the house for a non-offensive, wholesome, God Bless America two hour show performed by professionals who enjoy their work. Get there at least thirty minutes early to find street parking. Meters are free after five.

“a $35 ticket that needs a $20 senior discount”
Reviewed September 30, 2012

The Beat Goes On takes place in the beautiful historic Savannah Theater, but I'm not here to review the building.

I'm a music-loving 51 yo. I'm also a vocalist and keyboard musician, so my standards are a little higher than most. I was hyped and in a good mood before the show started.

Let me start off with the positive aspects of the show - the band. The keyboardist, the drummer, the sax/flute/bongo player, the bass player and the highly talented and entertaining lead guitar player were all phenomenol! They could carry a show on their own merits together and each alone! The keyboardist is quite accomplished and could likely leave to write his own ticket anywhere in the world!

Now for the hard part - the singer/dancers. Most of the vocalists wouldn't make the first cut at most theme parks. Their showmanship could use some serious coaching.

Like the entire cast on the stage the night of my attendance, I'm white. This is 2012, and this show needs some "color," some soul, some dancers who can actually do those 70's disco moves! With the exception of the box office and the ushers, (and the lone asian pianist), diversity is severely lacking here. Get with the times, do some serious soul-searching and get back on the beat.

At this point, the show is worth about $15, not $35. A 1/4 filled theater is not indicative of a #1 Things to Do Attraction. Please stop begging the mostly 60 to 80 yo audience to go to TripAdvisor to post reviews! Only desperate companies do that!!!

In 10 days of traveling around Savannah and Tybee Island, it was by far, my most disappointing and over-priced experience!!!

“Southern nights indeed!”
Reviewed September 29, 2012

Although tired from walking alot, I decided to stay up & go to the show with my relatives. Wow, am I ever glad I didn't opt for sleep! This show was so good. It will definitely get your heart pumping! The singers & musicians in the band were fantastic! A multitude of selections. Something for everyone! I could sit through this show multiple times & still be excited to be there! I would suggest that this be at the top of your priority list when visiting Savannah, GA.
