We did the "Beat the Heat" 8AM two-hour tour on Saturday, June 15. It was our last day of a Charleston-Savannah vacation and was the only time Bobby Davis had available during our trip. I'd recommend that you book a tour early with Bobby for the first day of your Savannah visit so you get an overview of the best sites and attractions. He will provide recommendations for restaurants and other attractions. Then you can go back to the main sites and really look around later. I would also recommend doing a longer half day tour. We saw about 5 squares, a bunch of houses and gardens, the Cathederal, Colonial Park Cemetery and Forsyth Park Fountain. After 2 hours, we were really just getting started. All the reviews pretty much sum up that his tours are enjoyable and educational and he is a fun, snarky guy (especially if you graduated from an SEC school other than Georgia). Yes, his tours are more expensive than other group walking tours and the trolley, but the tour will be with your family and friends or maybe another couple if just you and your spouse reserve a tour. It is just you and Bobby, no big crowd. He will send you pictures or take pictures with your camera. Want to know what the asking price of a house with a sale sign? Just ask. He engages with the local folks and homeowners which makes things interesting. He even had us smell a blooming Magnolia! I always recommend that people do tours or have a guide when vacationing otherwise you usually end up wandering around following a guide map and you miss some really neat stuff. A tour with Bobby Davis is worth the price.
