“Hold onto your stuff”
Reviewed June 2, 2014

Its fun walking up and down the street. Of course after about the 5 time, that's it. Bars every where and quite a few intoxicated people. Don't leave your drink for a second as it may get Ruffied. Cell phone was stolen while sitting on table. Its fun, just pay attention to your surroundings. Wear flat shoes. I found an art shop on a top floor, so go ahead and explore those stores. We have been there twice now...no need to go again.

“Wear the right shoes”
Reviewed June 1, 2014

The cobble stones (not really cobble stone) make it hard to walk so be sure you are wearing the right shoes. There are great shops and the water front is really nice; especially at sunset!

“Good place to eat”
Reviewed May 31, 2014

Lots of great restaurants and bars here, shopping and of course, history. Cobblestone streets may be difficult for some to navigate, and getting to River Street requires some steep steps (I believe there is an elevator in one of the buildings for those who need it). Great WWII memorial as well. Places to sit and just watch the huge ships go by.

“Neat-but a little touristy”
Reviewed May 30, 2014

Neat area to walk, with lots of eateries and pubs. The shops are a little touristy, but the gems were spread throughout small side streets throughout the area.

Seemed safe, but we weren't there in a high tourist season.

Lots of cobble stone, so if you aren't the best walker....

“Historic Savannah by the River A Step Back in Time”
Reviewed May 28, 2014 via mobile

You can almost see the three masted sailing sloops in the mist as they appear in the Savannah River as you walk on the cobblestones on Historic River Street as you browse through the many shops.
