Owner description: The Massie Heritage Center should be your first stop in Georgia's first city! Massie provides the best orientation for your visit with a 3D model of Savannah's entire Historic District, including three laser-lit narratives of the city's history projected onto the model. Massie's six exhibit rooms inside the historic 1856 Greek Revival school house offers visitors the unique opportunity to learn about Savannah's many architectural styles, the earliest inhabitants of the Georgia coast, the historic preservation movement in the city, and what school was like in the 1800s inside our authentic heritage classroom. We are located on beautiful Calhoun Square, Savannah's only architecturally original square, at the corner of Abercorn and Gordon streets. We look forward to seeing you!

Didn't go with too much expectation since it was included in a tour package we had purchased. It sounded interesting though and 4 of us went. I loved it and thought that it was very well thought out and executed for what it was. The city plan model and the interactive center was so interesting and informative. There is alot of information around each of the rooms so you have to spend some time moving through and reading.

We had fun like a bunch of kids in the schoolroom - and got a lot of fun pictures. The indian center was a little of a letdown compared to the rest but still very good.

Go and check it out - this is a must see for visitors to Savannah.

My daughter and nieces really enjoyed seeing how the children dressed and went to school in the 1800's.

HUGE model of the Historic District is worth the small admission alone. Old school room upstairs was interesting and in general the whole tour was very informative.

I wanted to show my son some of the history of Savannah for his upcoming GA Studies class in school. We only had VA history so he needed a little information before starting school. They had a great section on the start and development on Savannah. My younger children really enjoyed the schoolroom upstairs where they could pretend to be students, dress up, and even got to try writing with a quill. The people there were very helpful and went out of their way to provide information and make the visit fun for the kids.

Affordably priced, though they do charge for small children. A neat step back into time. There is a really cool interactive scale model of the entire historic district inside, and an old school room upstairs in original form.
