Owner description: The Massie Heritage Center should be your first stop in Georgia's first city! Massie provides the best orientation for your visit with a 3D model of Savannah's entire Historic District, including three laser-lit narratives of the city's history projected onto the model. Massie's six exhibit rooms inside the historic 1856 Greek Revival school house offers visitors the unique opportunity to learn about Savannah's many architectural styles, the earliest inhabitants of the Georgia coast, the historic preservation movement in the city, and what school was like in the 1800s inside our authentic heritage classroom. We are located on beautiful Calhoun Square, Savannah's only architecturally original square, at the corner of Abercorn and Gordon streets. We look forward to seeing you!

Enjoyed the history lesson of the creation of Savannah and the reasons behind the way the city is laid out. Was definitely impressed with the to-scale model of the Historic District, as well as the presentation that went along with it.

Would definitely recommend for school groups as well as History Buffs

Had great interactive displays! Museum covers Native American history, history of Savannah, development of the architectural styles in Savannah, as well as an old time schoolroom.

The first school room in Savannah looks like the kids just left for the day & you can sit down and relive your own childhood in their one room school house as a result.

Had I known how much Savannah history this place housed I would have gone here first. The architecture and native American exhibits were our favorites, but the miniature display of the city was great too.

A must see for all lovers of history. The hands on exhibits are some of the best I have seen in the US. Good first stop for visitors.
