This was Sherman's headquarters during the War Between the States and is where he wrote Abraham Lincoln giving him Savannah as a Xmas present. It was also always lived in so is not a restored structure clearly shows how (wealthy) people lived in the 19th century.

“Wonderful Architecture”
Reviewed May 10, 2013

While this church owned building is still in use and has some newer features added to it the original architecture is worth taking the tour. I still cannot believe some of the features of this house were built so long ago.

“Fun especially at night.”
Reviewed May 8, 2013

We had a good time on river street shopping, and sightseeing. If you eat in that area find a restaurant that is off the main drag. You'll get better food and service. Great music at the Warehouse.

“Worth the trip!”
Reviewed May 6, 2013

We toured the Green-Meldrim house on our trip in April. The house is gorgeous with amazing plaster work in all of the ceilings and moulding. It was definitely worth the small fee to tour this beautiful home. The tour was very interesting and you hear a lot of information on the original owners. The house has many original antiques that are impressive to see. This was our favorite home to tour.

“History at it's best”
Reviewed May 4, 2013

We had a wonderful tour guide that gave us so much information on this home and what happened in it. Very well kept and taught us so much of the Victorian Era in Savannah.
