Took a tour of the restaurant to learn the history, real or imagined. Evidently pirate captains would hang out there to kidnap crew members. Followed up with dinner. What a treat to eat in a 250 year old venue, even saw some ghost orbs

One can almost hear echoes of a peg-legged pirate as you step into this wonderful restaurant. The seafood is excellent and the atmosphere enhances the experience. Good natured fun, wonderful food, and the opportunity to step back in time to listen for the banter of pirates planning their next venture makes this a must visit for travelers.

We were briefly in Savannah with a group of students for a tour and heard that Pirates House accommodates big groups so we booked dinner there for our group. Everything on the front end of making the reservation went well. However, when we arrived for dinner the hostess was very hateful to us and acted like she didn’t know what we were talking about. When they finally figured it out, we had a room set up and waiting on us. But there wasn’t enough seats for our group and when one of the chaperones asked if they could bring another table in the waitress was very hateful and told her no, they can bring chairs and pull them up to tables. Now, we are a very flexible group and would be okay pulling up chairs but there was no room at the already crowded tables and the attitude of the wait staff made that even worse. So we ate crammed in tables bumping elbows. The bad service just continued. Our servers got our drinks but then we might have seen them 1 more time. They were hateful and snappy. I had to go to the kitchen to find someone to ask for our dessert that came with our group package. One the positive side, the food was good and there was plenty, but they really need to work on their service. It was truly one of the worst I’ve seen in a long time.

Be sure you partake on the free tour and Look up the stairs! Also look down into the pit. History is fascinating and good food is amazing. They are known for their chicken. The pirate lass that led our tour was top notch. They are right near the water front and very central to a lot of activities.
