“Didn't really live up to the hype.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 7, 2012

This restaurant was recommeded by locals as a real experience as it was a haunted restaurant and one of the most popular in Savannah.

While the pecan chicken was really good and the portions large, it seemed like this was a restaurant more geared towards family with young children then adults out for dinner.

If you happen to be near the food won't disappoint, but not worth going out of your way for.

“Neat Place!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 1, 2012

The free biscuits are awesome! The orange marmalade that comes with them is maybe even better. They have very good crab cakes and fried green tomatoes are heavenly. The service was good and the atmosphere was fun. The entrees are a little pricey, but overall we had a good experience.

“The food was horrible”

Very expensive for very poor food. It is historic though, Hope the ghosts don't get me for the critique!

“awesome historic atmosphere, excellent staff/service!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 30, 2012

The Pirates House is so full of history! It was like dining in a museum. We ordered the filet mignon. It was ok, not the best we had, and a bit expensive, but I would totally do it again just for the experience of being in such an old place. The corn bread was delicious! Our waiter was above and beyond the best waiter we have had at a restaurant. He was friendly, accomodating, and did a great job telling us a bit about the room we dined in and about the Pirates House in general. The best part of eating here, was the Pirate who walks around. He stops by all of the tables and makes small talk with the guests, He was nice enough to give us a personal tour around the Pirates House after we were done eating. We went room to room for a good 15/20 minutes getting the entire history on the Pirates House and its connecting buildings. I was only disappointed that we were not permitted to go into the basement or the upstairs. The basement is reserved for a stupid tour group that does ghost hunts. I think for as much as we spent on dinner, they should allow us to be able to see the basement. Especially since the tour they use is not very advertised. (We did not see anything about it anywhere). The gift shop is stocked with all sorts of Pirate gear. Overall, I would go back to the Pirates House and look forward to it if we ever get back down to Savannah!

“Disappointing dinner for the cost”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 28, 2012 via mobile

The shrimp dishes were decent but without seasoning. The she-crab soup was tasty. The broiled seafood platter was not good - rubbery scallops and unappetizing looking fish and oysters. Great historic building but dinner was rushed with entree arriving within 10 minutes of salads and soup.
