Lovely little museum that it tucked away off MLK Blvd. The staff was kind and the grounds of the museum are beautiful as well! Loved seeing the history of the ships of Savannah.

The Scarbrough House was designed by William Jay, just like the uber-snooty Owens-Thomas House, but because it was modified several times and used as a public school for many years, it is not given the respect shown to its virginal cousins. It is, however, still a magnificent house and the last restoration has made this a showplace without the fuss and "don't touch" you find in the other homes. Take photos to your heart's content and if you get tired and there is a chair, you can sit in it. The ship models and artifacts are great, but the house itself was enough for me. Look closely at the floor registers in the carpeted rooms...you will be amazed at the detail that went into them. SOTSMM also has parking and opens on Sunday morning, unlike most of the other attractions.

The house this museum is located in is absolutely gorgeous...and so well maintained. The exhibit itself is so interesting and well worth a trip.
