“Wonderful historical cemetery...”
Reviewed October 27, 2012

If you like old cemeteries, this one is a must-see while in Savannah. Many of the headstones are so old you cannot read the lettering. It is an amazing feeling walking through a 250-year old cemetery.

“A MUST SEE”
Reviewed October 26, 2012

Colonial Park Cemetery should be at top of your list if you are visiting Savannah. So much history, it makes you stop and think. There are duelist, soldiers, politicians, and victims of Yellow Fever all buried here. Savannah has done a wonderful job trying to protect the tombstones. The back wall is lined with broken and misplaced stones. If you look close you will find evidence of gravestone tampering by Civil War soldiers...found a stone where dates had been changed and parents were younger than children. Guess the soldiers got bored while being forced to camp in a cemetery. A historical must see.

“Interesting cemetery”
Reviewed October 26, 2012

Located right in the middle of the histortic district. The tombs are unique and there are many historic GA signs to mark the location of early Savannnah dignitaries. Worth a quick walk through if you have time.

“Free attractions and on some nights the Ghosts are free too!”
Reviewed October 25, 2012 via mobile

Amazing to walk back in time as you look at the many grave stones during the day. At night it is a bit frightening to stroll past the gates and ponder the many haunted souls that may lurk in the shadows..... Stroll past if you dare to be a brave heart. Savannah is full of tales of the macabre, ghosts, haunts and ghouls.....

Have fun and be safe........

“Beautiful and Unique”
Reviewed October 23, 2012

Although we did not have time to walk into the cemetery, we were in awe of the beauty surrounding it. If we had more time, we would have loved to walk inside it, as we were told by many that some of the grave stones were altered by young soldiers during the Revolutionary War. Now, women who may have only had 2 children were noted as having 200, etc. What a neat and interesting piece of history.
