“Creepy at niggt”
Reviewed March 15, 2012

700 or so marked graves but over 10,000 in all. Everywhere you go in Historic District Savannah you are walking on dead people.

“Read the Tombstones”
Reviewed March 14, 2012

Fascinating to see the patchwork tombstones on the wall. Amazing to see how some of the stones were altered.

“Neat”
Reviewed March 12, 2012

Beautiful cemetery. Take the time to look at many of the headstones carefully, you'll find the ones that the Yankee soldiers changed. People are younger than their children, they have hundreds of kids, they die before they're born.

“Wonderful place”
Reviewed March 5, 2012

This cemetery is a lovely place to visit. We had a guide the first time we went and got the history of the place and it just added so much. The headstones and monuments are beautiful. Overall a really lovely peaceful place to visit.

“A sense of colonial life through death”
Reviewed March 3, 2012

We love American history, so we took a walk in the cemetery to view graves of famous Savannah residents. We were touched as we read tombstones that told of children lost to disease, mothers & infants lost in childbirth, sons lost in battle. It's easy to imagine colonial Savannah as a beautiful place, but a walk here will remind visitors how fragile life really was in Colonial America.
