“Interesting headstones in Colonial Park Cemetery”
Reviewed December 24, 2011

My wife and I walked through Colonial Park Cemetery to look at the old historic headstones. The designs and inscriptions were very interesting. It is in the Historic District on Oglethorpe Ave.

“Eerily Attracting”
Reviewed December 17, 2011

I am big on historical sites and hearing the stories of the cemetery, along with seeing the headstones is very interesting. I would recommend a stroll through here.

“Lots of history”
Reviewed December 2, 2011

It's open from 8-5 and doesn't cost anything. You can walk throughout the cemetery and view all the head stones there many of which are from the late 1700s through the 1800s. The cemetery was ransacked by the Union during the Civil War so many of the headstones are broken or in the wrong place, but it is still worth walking through and taking in some of the history.

There's even a ghost story about the children's playground on the south side of the cemetery...

“Historic and eerie at night”
Reviewed November 30, 2011

During the day this is a wonderful step back to the Revolutionary War. At night you move a little quicker when the spanish moss that hangs from the braches blows in the breeze against the eerie glow of the streetlamps.
