Description: In 1996, Arnold Castellanos married the boss's daughter. "The boss" owned Sombrero, a Statesboro Mexican restaurant. Impressed with how hard Arnold worked, he gave the couple his blessing - and, as a wedding gift, helped his new son-in-law start his own restaurant in Savannah. Arnold loved the restaurant business almost as much as he did Magda, his bride. Fortunately, she was supportive of the long hours Arnold spent there, managing, hosting and even waving a sombrero at cars on busy Abercorn. Four successful years later, Arnold opened the second Jalapeno's, at 7405 Skidaway, and a year later, another in Sylvania, at 503 West Ogeechee Road.

Frozen margaritas were delicious! Service was prompt (once you got a table) and the food came out piping hot. We go ofter and the food quality is always the same -- very good for American Mexican!

My family took me here for my birthday. We had the best server, and I wish I could remember his name. The food was good, the service was great, and we had a few excellent margaritas to add to the fun. The atmosphere is festive--as a Mexican restaurant should be. We will be back soon.

It seems almost impossible to find bad Mexican food IMO. The food here is no exception but hardly stands out from any other Mexican restaurant. The salsa does stand out nicely as we could not get enough. The lunch specials are very reasonably priced and not so big that you regret eating the food afterwards. The service was exceptional as the chips remained replenished along with our drinks.

We have eaten at Jalapenos as least five times in the past month! Our son has a severe egg and peanut allergy and the staff are always helpful in making sure he is taken care of. We love the food and the great happy hour, too!
