Nemacoling Woodlands Resort & Spa was the site of a large state employee conference/convention June 10-13, 2013. They accommodated 250 attendees with a wide range of services, facilities, dining & recreational options. Everything was highend, high class & highly enjoyable. The grounds are sprawling. The shuttle service on the premises between facilities was excellent. I never waited more than 5 minutes for a shuttle ride. The place is spectacular.

Room Tip: I stayed at Chateau Lafayette in a King room. It had upscale furniture, high ceilings, floor-to-cei...

What an experience! Here is a get-away, that is around a four hour drive away. A junior "Disney world" without the lines and crowds Actually the employees couldn't do enough to assist and make my stay very enjoyable. It was a pleasure talking with them, realizing how serious they took their job. The rooms are decorated very well and extremely clean. The entire complex is well maintained and one of the best resorts I have ever visited. A wonderful family environment, if you don't have a great time here, shame on you!

We spent several days at this resort attending a conference. From the time we checked in to the time we checked out we were greeted by a very friendly and helpful staff. The rooms were very large and extremely comfortable. We did have trouble with the front of our bathroom sink which was fixed immediately. Most of our food was pre-arranged since we were at a conference and the food was good. The service was very good. Ate in their Tavern restaurant which was very good. The resort has a variety of activities including a zoo, spa, golfing, zip lining and so many more too numerous to mention in this review. It seems that this resort's goal is to surround its guests in a relaxed, luxurious atmosphere with employees who are always caring and very friendly and gracious-It is my opinion that they have certainly succeeded in meeting that goal. It was a fun several days encased in friendliness and comfort. Would certainly recommend this resort as a special getaway.

We brought our grandson for his birthday. We all had a wonderful time and it will be a treasured memory. The friendly staff and various activities (the zoo, the shooting gallery, and bowling) greatly contributed to our enjoyment.
Our room décor, the art displayed throughout the resort, the grounds, and variety and quality of the restaurants (the Tavern, Autumn and Aqueous) was very impressive.

Room Tip: We had a previous visit and loved our rooms each time. Are there any bad rooms?

This is a fabulous all season resort! We usually go in Winter and take advantage of the weekend kid ski pakages -perfect for small kids and casual older skiers. We just returned from a summer visit and had an equally great experience with outdoor activities. Accomadations either in the condos, the lodge or the chateau are different but always sumptuous. Dining suits all tastes and pockets be it hot dogs from PJ's Ice Cream shop or finest dining at the 5-star "Lautrec" with "Autumn", "the Tavern" and "Apex" in between. Whatever the activity be it eating, sleeping, biking, golfing, spa'ing, swimming, fishing, shooting, shopping, off-road driving, zip-lining, skiing, snow tubing or just hanging out admiring the eclectic art collection and the little amusements around the propertyincluding the wildlife habitats, no one will be bored or disappointed. The secret of this resort is its superbly trained, personable, but discrete staff- always available but never obsequious. This is a jewel nestled in the Laurel Mountains epitomizing the best of western Pennsylvania hospitality. Expensive- yes but always a great experience especially for a family occassion.

Room Tip: Condos in Winter- warm, cozy and self-contained Lodge or Chateau in Summer- close to the action

Driving in the main entrance doesn't begin to prepare you for the beauty, tranquility and experiences you are about to encounter. The first road sign gives you a hint of the possibilities that await you and your guests .... Wildlife Academy, Polo Field, Mulligans, Shooting Academy, Wildside ...and then the Croquet Field. This is a destination that will take many days to absorb all the possibilities, but there is something for everyone. Very kid friendly and safe. I have stayed there 3 times and look forward every year to a return visit. The background sound of the lions roaring is disconcerting at first, but they are well tended to by there keepers.
