“not much bang for buck...”
Reviewed November 17, 2012

My husband and I went to Nemacolin with another couple and stayed in The Chateau. The room was nice size, but a little "tired"...fabrics worn, woodwork and vanity beat, bath rug frayed, caulk was moldy and sparse in tub. I know this sounds picky, but for $450/night, I was expecting more. OK, I know you arent in the room much, so we headed out to tour the property and putt-putt (closed down), golf (closed, even though when we checked in they said it was open), zip line (closed)...so we went to the spa and it was very nice. The service was very good in the restaurants, but the food was just fair (and cold) at Autumn. We loved the Cigar Bar, but the fireplace was fake and on a thermostat so the flame would go off. The staff was friendly, but the conceirge sent us to The Stone House about 10 minutes away and the food and service was TERRIBLE. We loved our trip to Falling Water and would go back there, but not to Nemacolin.

Room Tip: Try the $750/night Falling Rock...might be better. It was booked, or closed for season when we were...

Marvelous accommodations. Stayed at Falling Rock for a business meeting and I was amazed by the rooms, activities and the staff. The meeting rooms were very well appointed and comfortable. The good was delicious especially the pork chop with apricot sauce.
I will definitely be back with my wife.

Nemacolin Woodland Resorts is a beautiful place. The property includes everything you could want. The main building is elegant. Every staff member will go out of their way to help you, including walking you to where you need to be. The scenery is breathtaking. There are activities for everyone from a spa to paintball. There is even a wildlife preserve. I would come back again.

Room Tip: There are hotel rooms., condos and townhomes so if you are traveling with a family, I would suggest...

I used to love the variety of cruising...to have this much variety, service and excellence in western Pennsylvania is a real treat. Something to do for EVERYONE and a great value. Beautiful, picturesque setting and friendly staff makes for a marvelous get away. You won't be disappointed.

What a fabulous resort! The service is first class as is everything about this gem. Sitting on 3000 acres it has something for everyone. Spa (both adults and children), rock climbing, golf (2 courses), mini golf, archery, horseback riding, paintball, wine classes, car museum, etc. The list of activities is massive but the true lure of this place is the attention to detail. At each restaurant and throughout the hotel the staff refers to you by name; "Hello, Mr. & Mrs. W". A very nice touch. Their Lautrec Restaurant is one of the finest that we have ever been to, in fact I think it is the finest! We could find no fault with anything at this resort and look forward to returning!

Room Tip: We stayed in the main building in one of the largest rooms I've ever had. The bathroom was very...

Stayed on a Monday night for a conference. Room in the Chateau was absolutely fabulous ( much better than the lodge stay for previous conferences!) Dining experience was excellent! Wasn't much going on on a Monday night but just sitting in the various areas enjoying a cocktail was really nice! The Cigar bar was fun ( if you like cigars!). Staff is friendly and helpful. I am sure there is a lot to do here but a Monday in November doesn't lend itself to much activity outside! I wanted to shoot the Sporting clays but was told the course was closed to me on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday- dissapointing.
Everyone should stay here at least once!

Room Tip: Stay in Chateau not the lodge if you can afford it!

I brought a group of executives to Nemacolin for a retreat and it exceeded my expectations! The staff was incredibly accommodating, professional and friendly. The food was all excellent from the catering department to the fabulous Lautrec! The activities and team building offerings seemed endless and I look forward to bringing more groups here to experience more of them. The animal preserve was a surprising experience! The Chateau rooms were beautiful and the club lounge was indulgent! The spa was luxurious and I recommend the hot stone massage!
