“Upscale Italian. But?”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 19, 2014 via mobile

My wife and I live in Annapolis and often eat out. We usually tend to head toward DC. On the recommendation of some friends we decided to try Cinghiale. We often share our courses and we started with the assorted meats and the green summer salad followed by the agnolotti and then the duck. We chose to have cheese rather than a sweet to finish the meal however we were treated to dessert to celebrate our Anniversary. The service was deliberate if not a little slow however we were in no rush so the pace sooted us. All the food was wonderful as was the attentive service. My only pet peeve is the wine policy at many restaurants in Maryland. As the laws have been loosened it is up to the local jurisdictions and the restaurants in them to decide if wine can be brought from outside. The owners of Cinghiale have invested in making their wine list exceptional, it would be nice to be able to bring a special bottle to dinner to celebrate our special occasion. As it was we did find a lovely Barbaresco to drink and the sommelier was helpful in leading us toward a bottle we would enjoy with the meal. All in all it was an enjoyable night and if the wine policy was different I probably would choose to eat here more often.

“Authentic & Delicious italian on the Inner Harbor”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 18, 2014

Lived in Baltimore for 3 years and this was by far my favorite restaurant. Such a great selection of food choices and wines. Never had a bad meal at Cinghiale. Also loved the atmosphere. Still go back here with my husband for special occasions because the food is that good. You will not be disappointed!

“Good food, service, location!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 17, 2014 via mobile

We wanted to enjoy a good Italian meal while sitting outside in Baltimore, and we found it all at Cinghiale. We had a table outside on a beautiful evening in the Inner Harbor East overlooking a marina. The service was fabulous and well paced. The food was very good...especially the Casunsei (a sausage filled pasta parmigiana, butter, and sage). We will definitely return again.

“Pricey meals on the waterfront”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 17, 2014

I eat here twice during Baltimore restaurant week. First time i had the aruglia salad and lasagne from the set menu both of which were good, but the dessert, billed as a tiramisu, was more like a flan, VERY long wine list with some expensive wines...but also some good value choices around $30. Both times I found the service was slow. The decor is attractive and they have a half dozen tables outside on the waterfront.

“Authentic Italian Restaurant and Enoteca”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 13, 2014

Cinghiale has authentic Italian cuisine and a substantial wine list. In the Enoteca portion, wines are half priced on Tuesdays, however fully priced in the Restaurant portion.

Tagliatelle with cinghiale Bolognese was as authentic as if it were Firenze, which is where our waiter was from. The waiter helped by explaining a couple of items that were beyond my restaurant Italian, and providing excellent service. We took advantage of the wine bargain on Tuesday night and bought some especially good whites and reds.

All the other dishes were similarly well prepared, duck, procuiotto San Danielle con melone, and an especially good Lemon verbena Panna Cotta with an almond crumble and peach gelato.

The prices were very good value for a top quality restaurant.
