“Fun Stay in Baltimore”

We stayed at this hotel for President's weekend. The hotel was in a fantastic location on Pratt Street. The front desk staff was kind enough to upgrade us to a waterfront room. The bellmen were kind enough to help us when we needed to keep our bags until we left at the end of our stay. The only complaint that I have is the there is to much space at the bottom of the room door (approximately 2 inches) which allowed one to hear people passing in the hall. I would definately stay here again.

I've stayed in this hotel every week since 1/3/2011. This hotel has the most incompetent billing department and late night front desk staff of just about any Marriott property that I have stayed in. Twice I have been checked into the wrong room. The first time this happened I was awakened at 1:00 in the morning by security trying to verify my identity. I still have a no show charge on my CC due to the hotel's mistake. Last night I was given an already occupied room.

Otherwise the hotel is OK for a Renaissance and has a fairly nice gym.

very clean, very new spacious rooms. comfortable bed, nice decore. no mini bar! here for a business meeting. excellent service and food. only complaint - staff need to dress better. uniforms too large on them and they have their shirts open exposing their chest hair.

We took a quick two night trip to Baltimore a couple weeks ago. It was our first getaway w/out the kids. We stayed at the Renaissance Harborplace. This is a beutiful hotel in a great location. Right across from the water. short walk to all of the fun spots. There is the gallery mall/shopping attatched to the hotel. Plenty of nice spots to eat and drink w/in a two minute walk. I suggest a 15-20 minute walk to the Fells Point area in mild weather. in cold weather it is worth a $8 cab ride. Check out The Horse You Rode In on Saloon if you go. Nice spot. Rooms at the hotel were nice and well appointed. We had a partial harbor view which was fine with us. Our room also had a view of ships, the Hard Rock and much more. Renaissance beds are always the best. One small complaint about the rooms is the front door. there was a lot of space between the door and the frame. most notably at the top and bottom. This allowed light in and some noise from the hallway traffic. Not a huge negative but one none the less. It was not just our room. I took notice while walking past rooms. Other than that it was a nice stay. Staff was nice. If you are flying, i recommend a $34 cab ride from airport to the hotel. It took about 15 minutes. The supershuttle is another option. It is cheaper if you are by yourself. However you ride with other people and it stops at several hotels. So you can add an additional thirty minutes to your trip from airport. If there are two of you, the cab is the way to go. Often you will find private vehicles parked out front of the hotel. The hotel has contracts with them and depending on the car could be 25-35 dollars. Also there is a computer in the lobby of hotel just for airline check in. Very nice to have. Enjoy if you choose this hotel.

My fiance just returned from an overnight stay at this lovely hotel. We frequently visit Baltimore and have stayed at almost every other hotel at the harbor, this was by far my favorite. We got a really great rate on the room and then we received a complimentary upgrade to a junior suite that was HUGE!! The view was amazing. My only suggestion would be to put King sized beds in the suites, that was kinda weird.
When we got to the room it had been recently cleaned and some cleaning supplies were left in the room. We called down to the front desk and they asked us if we wanted to change rooms and we said no, so they brought us two glasses of wine instead. Security in the hotel is outstanding, customer service is phenomenal and the FULL BLOWN MALL was my absolute favorite!! I will definitely stay here again when I visit.

We stayed here one night as a "get away" weekend. The main thing this hotel has going for it is the location -- directly across from the Inner Harbor area, however, there are a LOT of hotels which are nearby and which cost much less and are comparable in quality. We had a harbor view room and the view is very impressive. The room is the same size as a standard size discount motel and the bathroom is certainly not "luxury" -- plastic shower curtain, 4' between sink and tub/shower, etc. The furnishings were an upgrade from a discount motel, but not on par with a luxury hotel. Restaurant was extremely overpriced so we ate elsewhere. The hotel is a short cab ride to Little Italy or Fells Point and in good weather woudl be an easy walk. Parking is $26 extra and there is really no way to get to the hotel except by car. My biggest complaint was that they don't provide complimentary wifi in the rooms to guests. They have wifi, but it's $12.95 extra per day, although it is free in the lobby and bar area and they provide free wifi in their discount chains. We enjoyed our stay, but next time, I would stay somewhere else. There are a lot of options in the area which are nicer and more accomodating.

I have to say that I was not overly impressed with this hotel. The staff at the front desk was mediocre and the not terribly welcoming. The bellmen were so sweet though.
The restaurant was an AWFUL mess...they were understaffed, had to wait for 30 minutes to get food after ordering (note: we have a 2yo and a 4yo) and then, to top it off, the package we got said that it included a "Buffet Breakfast for 2 Adults" on the blue card but when we checked out, the front desk lady said that we couldn't go over $38! I should point out that when we were seated for breakfast the hostess said that since they didn't have the buffet available that day, we could order "anything" off the menu. So, we did. And it came out to a few dollars over the $38 but seriously, did the front desk staff really need to have me waiting to check out for her to charge me an extra $2 bucks for breakfast?
So, for this type of thing, I wasn't impressed.
I do have to give credit where credit is due. The first room they put us in was across the hall from a noisy party. They moved us to a comparable room very quickly.
