Renaissance Baltimore Harborplace Hotel

This was my first stay at the Renaissance Baltimore Harbor Place Hotel. The staff was very welcoming when I arrived and check in was a a breeze. They were also helpful with with information on the NFL summit we were attending. Rooms are spacious, clean and pleasant but need some some updating. Carpet and furnishings seem a bit run down. Bathroom was also very clean. Really appreciated having the Gallery Mall access from the hotel considering the bad weather this week. Liked the hotel bar on the 5th floor but the one on the 1st floor needs to add food service or at least tapas style eats. Starbucks is also conviently located in the lobby but again needs to add food service especially breakfast fare for people on the go. Overall a very nice experience. Would recommend this hotel.

This hotel is right near the harbor. It's a bit expensive, but for a good experience it's worth it. Checking in was easy and they gave us a complimentary cake for our anniversary. Parking is about $30, they also have valet for an additional charge. The hotel is very large. I pool area has a hot tub and is on the 7th floor, no room key is necessary for access. Lifeguard is present. The pool is about 7 ft deep and pretty nice.

Our room was very nice and clean. Staff are friendly and helpful. There is a shopping mall attached to this hotel too. My only complaint with the room is there is a waterproof mattress protector under the sheets that caused me to get hot at night. I'm probably just not used to those is the problem. There were tons of pillows and they were firm to soft. I recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: No tip for a room selection, but when riding elevators down, take the parking garage ones. The elev...

This was our second visit to this hotel, and this time we were given an interior atrium room that was extra large, including a separate tub and all glass shower, and two bathroom sinks with extra counter space! It was almost like staying in the master bedroom suite of an upscale home. As usual, the bedding and mattress quality in a Marriott-Renaissance was top quality. The location allows you to leave the auto in the garage, and explore on foot. Add to this experience the friendly front desk reception folks, plus the efficient customer service available by dialing zero, and the result is a very positive and relaxing visit. Other stuff we like about this hotel: great water pressure, high quality elevators, the Water Table Restaurant on the 5th floor over looking the harbor, and the incredible BLT crab cake sandwich! We could have used a second soap dish by the other bathroom sink, and free in-room internet access, but hey, no one is perfect!

We have stayed at the Renaissance each time we go to Baltimore. We get a military discount which is very significant. I think we've paid in the mid 100's even for weekend nights. The hotel is clean, convenient ( can walk to everything) and staff are friendly.

After staying at the Renaissance in Atlanta just a few weeks ago, I was excited about trying another location. When I arrived, the front desk staff were quite unaccomidating but I expected that. What I didn't expect was the urine on the toilet, the broken knob in the bathroom, the nicked up furniture, walls, and doors everywhere, and the dirty grout in the showers, please check out the pictures! This place is not very well kept, needs a major renovation and for the price I'd expect a ton more!

It's more like a 3 Star hotel so if you expect that then you should be fine.

The upside, after all of that we were upgraded to the club level and enjoyed the complimentary breakfast, snacks, and dessert in the club lounge.

The location is good too.

If you can stay somewhere else in the area with clean rooms and kept building you will be happy you did.

The hotel is nice and clean but not ideal for families. The pool is not open from noon - 5pm which is not good for kids. It's also FAR for kids to walk to their room if you don't request a room near the one elevator. The club level food/breakfast was nice. The hotel location was great for aquarium. There was no outdoor pool.

Thank you for choosing the Renaissance Harborplace and for taking the time to review your stay on Trip Advisor. I am glad you were able to visit the Aquarium during your stay. It is one of the many local attractions located within walking distance from the hotel. Also, if you visit again please request a room near the elevator. Our front desk will be happy to oblige. I am listing our pool hours which change with the seasons.

Winter Hours
Mon-Thurs 8a-12 5p-10
Fri-Sun 8a-10p

Summer Hours (effective Memorial Day)
Daily 8am - 10pm

Thank you again for your feedback.

Lovely front-desk staff. Attractive, comfortable, updated rooms. BUT: dirty wine glass sitting on bedside table when we arrived in room. Two hand lotions, but no hair conditioner, among toiletries. Trash sits outside rooms in hallways for way too long. There clearly is no comprehensive housekeeping management. The in-house Watertable Restaurant was simply horrible (so I had to deduct an additional point for that). Unaccompanied (but well-behaved) under-12s allowed in Concierge Lounge one day. Noisy (accompanied) kids another. Choose another Marriott property in Baltimore if you're an Elite member, and give this one a miss.

Room Tip: Decline interconnecting rooms; too noisy.

Thank you so much for your review. I am happy to hear that our staff and rooms were to your liking. I do apologize for the housekeeping issues you encountered. These issues have been communicated to the appropriate staff. Our hotel is very popular with families because of our close proximity to all of the Inner Harbor attractions. Some of these families do enjoy the concierge lounge with their children during their stay.

Again, thank you for your review and for allowing us the opportunity to correct any shortcomings.. We rely on your feedback!
