“Great hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2013

The location is perfect, the staff is nice, and the rooms are clean. The breakfast buffet wasn't that great for the price. Even though the father's day buffet had just began, the food was cold so it tasted gross. Also, for the price of the hotel in the high season, parking should be included but it's not, it's $28 per day.

Room Tip: Book ahead of time so that you can get the early booking discount

Room: The room was comfortable, with a decent view of the inner harbor. The bathroom was pretty standard. All in all, a good but not notable room. I only spent one night there (and little time in the room itself) so I do not have a great deal to say about the room.

My bed type did not match my booking (actual King vs booked Double), but I was upgraded to the Regency Club level, so the net impact was positive. The club was a bit small (and pretty crowded during my visit), but the food and drinks were a nice addition to my stay.

Location: This was an excellent location for my purpose (a quick trip to watch an Orioles game) and would serve as a great location for a longer trip to Baltimore (or a visit to the convention center, should work draw you there). The hotel is across from the touristy inner harbor area and a few blocks from Camden Yards.

Service: Really only interacted with the staff in the lounge, and each staff member was very attentive and courteous.

Value: I used a free night from the Chase Hyatt card, so I cannot really speak to the value of the hotel.

Stayed there for one night for 4th of July fireworks...Room is clean an view is great! Request a harbor view. Great place to stay if you want to check out the Inner Harbor. There are other hotels around, but the location here is a good one. Bistro 300 dinner was wonderful...would definitely go there again.

Room Tip: choose a harbor view room

The location is super. There is a bridge to walk across to the Inner Harbor with all its attractions.
The staff was helpful. The room, however, was bland and boring. No charm in this Charm City room. There was wear to the furnishings and carpet, including spots and stains. But my biggest complaint is that they charge for internet. SERIOUSLY - who does that any more?

My wife and I attended a wedding this weekend at the Hyatt Regency Baltimore. Service was excellent and the view of the Inner Harbor was excellent. The staff that supported the wedding (servers, bartenders, etc.) did a great job. The staff was very courteous and provided excellent service at all times. Great job!

Room Tip: Ask for a room higher up with a view of the Inner Harbor.

We spent one night over the Memorial Day weekend. The hotel room was above average, clean and comfortable. The hotel itself is not a new property, but they are keeping the rooms as updated as possible. Loved breakfast at Bistro 300. We opted for the Bed and Breakfast rate and it was well worth the price. The staff at the restaurant were great very attentive and the interior design of the restaurant is something to be seen. As many have said, the location is fantastic! I would definitely stay here again.

Got a Harbor View room to watch fireworks on July 4th.
For what it is, and why we went, we are mostly happy - but there are better choices to our preferences.

The Pros:
Location, location, location. If you want to explore Inner Harbor, this is a good home base.
Customer Service: Front desk, phone support, random in-house staff...all wonderful.
Parking: In & out cards (ask for them), cost competitive, elevators dump you right to the hotel lobby.
Value: We were handed a coupon for 50% off in-house food and beverage (incl. room service), which made it semi-affordable.

The Cons:
Room Noise/Wall thickness: The property tries, with signage to warn you to 'keep it down', but the walls are thin, and you will hear others nearby.
Check-Out Billing: Our check out bill didn't include the breakfast, which puts us in their hands (kind of) to settle this after we depart. We've never had this issue at any property, at any price...and expected better for a $300/night room.
Bed comfort: Awesome. Its nice to wake up without a back ache.

Neutral:
Price/value: There are better choices in this category, to our taste, at least, for the Inner Harbor.
Room Service: Delivered on time, but minor issues (corrected) can't recommend or non-recommend.
Updates(?): The commode is more of the "high-school locker room" type, and was a bit surprising to see in a hotel, much less a Hyatt.

General:
Charging for Internet: Why is internet access free at a $69/night Fairfield, but $20/device at places like this? I suppose "because it can be", but it is just a pet peeve, in general, to the high-end brands, including this one.

Would return on a good deal, if our other favorite place is full.

Room Tip: 5xx (even numbered between 02 and 20) are good harbor views
