Terrible! The halls and room appeared not have been vacuumed in 6 months. Walls and floors in extreme disrepair. Cheap plastic flowers were considered "decorations" UGH!

Enter the Biltmore Suites and you go back in time. Captured is the charm of its character. At 123 years old, it shows its wear like a beloved piece of clothing--maybe a button is gone or a stitch is loose, but you'd never think of replacing it with anything new.

Ask to stay in a suite in the adjoining building, with a balcony!
There's a small courtyard between the two buildings.

You'll not regret staying in this oasis in Baltimore's downtown area!!

The most memorable thing about this hotel was pulling the bedcovers back to reveal extremely thin and very badly stained pillow cases. The staff brought replacements that weren't much better. We stayed one night only because every other hotel in Baltimore was booked. Couldn't wait to get out the next morning.

Really I felt once is not enough, and so next month I booked a room (this time a king suite as against last time's queen bed room) again at iltmore Suites Hotel Baltimore. What attracted us there again? Well, my 6 year old liked the tiny elevator of olden days, a lovely stair case with a lot of beautifuly smooth woodwork to run his hands on, and the quiet lobby and of course the gold fish; my husband liked to spend the whole day in a noiseless and spacious room with his laptop after enjoying complimentary breakfast with fresh coffee, bagels, muffins, fruit, cereal and later some food delivered to the room; as for me, I liked the overall grandeur of the Victorian age. he rom decor in keping with the style and the kind of homelines. It's an experience to be experienced. Biltmore can be a disappointment for those looking for high rise ultra modern franchise hotel with bar, restaurants and gym rooms on the premises. But what is the difference between those noisy hotels and an airport or your own office for that matter! So if you have a taste for something different, just go for biltmore in Baltimore. Service is good. Parking cheap ($ 3 a day), and bus/light rail nearby. In the evening it may not look bright from outside, but its just fine in side. I think if the entrance passage had a brighter lighting, (and if the hotel would have been on the waterfront) I would have given it a 5 point rating instead of 4.

I had a reasonably comfortable stay at this hotel and would stay there again. The desk staff are extremely nice, gracious and hospitable -- and their English is fine. It's a beautiful old hotel, decaying grandeur, "decaying" being the operative word - there are some flaking plaster issues and obvious ceiling leaks that were patched. If you're not bothered by that kind of thing, you'll be fine. It's right in the middle of the historic district. Walk a few blocks to the right, you're in a lovely historic section with shops, cafes, restaurants, a monument. Walk to the left - along the light rail tracks -- and you're in the "seedy" part. It's fine in the day but scary at night, at dark. As a single woman traveler, I felt fine on Charles Street (historic section) but not at all safe on Harbor Street (the light rail stop) - I ran all the way back to the hotel, and I'm comfortable in most cities. Convention Center / Inner Harbor are easily accessible. 15 minute walk, or 7 minutes on the light rail, easy to use, good value. The room was cold, the heat didn't work well, not all the light bulbs worked, and there was no hair dryer. But the place was clean, and surprisingly spacious. I probably wouldn't stay there if I planned to "hang out" at a hotel a lot. It was a good, reasonably priced place to crash, very convenient to places I needed to be.

This charming old hotel might be a little dingy, but the charm factor makes it worthwhile. The staff were very nice and the desk staff spoke english just fine. We had booked 2 queen rooms for $69 a night and when they didn't have them upon check in, we got stepped up to 1 king and one queen suite for no extra charge! The area around the hotel is so-so but not terrible. I parked my car in front with no problems. I loved the rickety elevator! I would certainly stay here again as would the friends who traveled with me.

This is a very different kind of hotel. It is not your run-of-the-mill, sterile, franchise hotel. I was there with my kids and the kids loved the antique elevator. The elevator is a European-style with two gates. The rooms were large and the front desk manager was kind enough to upgrade our regular room with two double beds to an enormous suite with a sleeper sofa. The staff was very friendly and even called me after I checked in to ask if everything is okay in the room. I have not been asked this at any other hotel in Baltimore and I come to Baltimore quite often when the Yankees play at Camden Yards. I will stay at this hotel from now on. Also, the rates were very reasonable compared to the other hotels in Downtown Baltimore.
