I've eaten at the lunch buffet here with my colleagues about once a week for the past few years. The buffet lunch is consistently good quality. The samosas, saag paneer and channa masala are excellent, and the aloo ghobi is some of the best I've had. I always go back for seconds.
Tandoori chicken can be dry, but chicken or fish curry is good and they sometimes have lamb. Dessert is rice pudding with almonds and cantaloupe. Service is above average. For $11, you can fill up on great Indian food.
Clientele comes from surrounding businesses and University of Maryland, Baltimore grad schools, medical school and hospital. About the neighborhood, it's right there at Lexington Market..one of the oldest city markets in the country. MemSahib has a separate street entrance (Eutaw Street), but it's in the same building as the market. If you're intimidated by crowded, inner city neighborhoods, go with friends. It's worth it.
