Decent Irish pub food - inner harbor, so packed with tourists.

General overview: This restaurant is located on the upstairs level at the Inner Harbor. Convenient to Inner Harbor shopping and sightseeing. Both inside and outside have views of the harbor.

We walked into this restaurant at dinner time, maybe 6pm. Got a table right away. Ordered our drinks, which arrived in a reasonable time period. Then placed our food order. Then we waited. For an hour. With two kids. Without even a visit from our server to say what the delay was. At about the 40 minute mark one of the managers walked by and my husband flagged him down. Their excuse was that the kitchen 'got slammed' after the ball game that day. We were at the ball game and it had ended at least two hours prior to our arrival at the restaurant so that wasn't much of an excuse - the place wasn't full of people who had just walked down from the ballpark. A group at one table near us, came, ate and left during our wait. Another group near us were already there when we arrived and still there when we left and they were as frustrated as we were. So we couldn't figure out what was going on.

The food was good, once we got it, but after an hour's wait it was hard to enjoy it. I'm never one to expect anything to be comped, but after the wait we had even I thought they could have offered us dessert on the house or taken something off the bill.

I know, I know - never eat on the water - it is always bad. And even and Irish place too, so food can't be that great... we learned another hard lesson. Horrible service - the waiter didn't log the correct side dishes for our meals, promised to make it right, and never did. Food was absolutely insulting to our taste buds... vegetarian pasta was meager little slivers of veggies on top of raw garlic-ladened "pesto" that battered my mouth. Salad was drowning in malt vinegar and nothing else... burned my husband's mouth. The childrens' pizza was a really bad, chemical-ladened crust with sugary sauce and gummy cheese. The fries were fabulous, although had a hint of fish... separate frying vats, guys!

Wish I could have that meal and the money back. Lesson learned - stay away from the water and Irish places that serve food.
