I know a lot of folks that don’t like this restaurant, but I’ve never had any complaints. I’m at the Convention Center every year for about a week, and I usually eat a quick supper here at least once during each visit since it is so close. It’s an upstairs restaurant in one of the shopping buildings that surround the Inner Harbor with great views from the outside patio (with an overhang to protect you from any rain) as well as many of the inside tables.
Usually I’ve been seated and served very immediately, although if there is a football or baseball game in town, the place can get packed and waits are greatly increased. The place can also fill up on Friday and Saturday evenings once the bands begin.
I always stick to typical americanized pub fare like Corned Beef & Cabbage, Whiskey Sausage, Fish & Chips, Shepards Pie, and Bangers & Mash; they’ve always been good, and the Bangers & Mash is consistently excellent. The place has a number of other entrees, appetizers, and sandwiches as well including the Maryland standards: Crab Soup, Crab Dip, and Crab Cakes.
The beer selection is extensive, both on tap and in the bottle. I always opt for draft Guinness or Kilkenny and sometimes a Black and Tan.
I think if you visit here for the beer with expectations that any food your order will be typical pub grub in a place that is a little over-priced because it’s view attracts a lot of walk-in tourists from the Inner Harbor, you’ll be pleased. If you go expecting something more, you probably won’t.
