“What a great place! Excellent gourmet pizza and ice cream”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 20, 2013

My husband and I, with our 2 teens, went to try the pizza (mentioned on Drive Ins, Diners and Dives). My daughter asked the server (forgot his name) which he recommended - the balsamic chicken or mushroom pizza. With no hesitation, he answered the chicken, "because mushrooms are gross". We just about fell out of our chairs with laughter! The 4 pizzas we ordered were absolutely awesome! Eclectic flavor combinations (chicken, apple and corn) that really made a difference. Then for dessert were cool ice creams (butter pecan, cheesecake, etc).

If you have any interest in unique food flavors on a square pizza, don't miss this place!!

“Amazing pizza!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 16, 2013

Stumbled across this place while walking around Baltimore, in the Power Plant area, during a work trip. While there the server said they had been on the Food Network, and after we ate, we could see why. The pizzas were some of the best we've had. Thin crust, and great taste. The atmosphere is fun and staff was friendly and quick.

“The original location is the best.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 12, 2013

Located on the corner of North and Howard in the slowly-gentrifying Station North Arts District, Joe Squared has been a surprise hit since it opened. We have eaten there several times and always enjoyed the great food, although the last time we ordered pizza at the other location left us underwhelmed. This time I opted for the Spinach Risotto which I found creamy and delectable. It came out very fast and was not loose enough for true risotto aficionados, but it was tasty and hearty and I wanted more. My wife ordered a mushroom sandwich which was fantastic. As it happened, it was our meatless Tuesday meal and we knew Joe Squared offered many vegetarian options. They have an unparalleled rum selection, as well as a large selection of craft beers. The average price of a draft is six bucks, so you should keep in mind that this is a great place to go, but not necessarily a cheap place to go. The insdie is almost disturbingly dark, but they do have a semi-enclosed seating area out front.

“Pleasant Surprise in the Rain”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 10, 2013

We were visiting Port Discovery across the square and needed a kid friendly place to eat. We started walking and got caught in the rain so ran into the first place we were near. This is directly across from Port Discovery (Baltimore Childrens Museum) and I would never had guessed what a great place it was to take kids. From the outside it looked like a typical bar but the inside was filled with great food ( many varieties of risotto and pizza) and very friendly staff. We found a table right away, the hostess made sure to secure a booster to the high table for our three year old, the waiter wanted to make sure our order for him was exact (since they didn't serve his obsession, mac and cheese) and they were so friendly and welcoming I was glad I ran in here out of the rain. There were plenty of other families in here, no doubt also visiting Port Discovery, but I couldn't tell this from the outside. Overall a great option for anyone looking for excellent food and a family friendly and accommodating staff. Remember people don't remember how you treat them they remember how you make them feel, we felt very welcome and glad to have stopped in.

“More selection than the other location, just as small, but just as GOOD!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 28, 2013

I love this place! There are 2 locations in Bmore and this one has the best menu selection. They have a larger menu than the other location, but both have the same staples like Pizza, Rissoto, and Appetizers. Again, the pizza & rissoto were phenomenal and of the same quality as the other location. Joe Squared is truely not your average pizza joint, they are pizza picasso's! Truely reinventing the pizza with their own flare and pizazz. The way their dishes combine flavors is very unique and definitely nothing I would ever think of. It's pure cullinary genious, even if it is only "pizza". This is one of my new favorite eateries for sure. You have to try it. Go there for the food, not the atmoshphere or looks. They can be deceiving.
