Best Western Plus Hotel & Conference Center
Ranked #37 of 67 Hotels in Baltimore
Reviewed July 16, 2013

Overall the hotel was clean - rooms were outdated and bathtub leaked. Keys did not work properly and the disco attached to the hotel was very loud and patrons of the disco vandalized our car. The hotel is close to the harbor and has free parking which is a plus.

Thank you for pointing out the fact that we are close (about 3 1/2 miles) to Baltimore's beautiful Harbor and that we have free parking. We also offer a complimentary scheduled shuttle for guests that don't want to deal with parking downtown.
I'm sorry to hear of the problems you had with the nightclub, but we have discussed these problems with the Management and Security to assure these things don't happen again.
Thank you for writing your review and we hope to see you again.

Not the best place. It is a bit expensive for what you get. I got the Johns Hopkins discount and it was still $100 a day. It is about 4 miles to the hospital, which is good, They have a free shuttle, but I did not use it. The Tradewinds is ok at best. The rooms need to be refreshed. Remote was a pain to use, it acted like the batteries were dead. Desk and chair were well used. It isn't in a great place in my opinion. It is out of the way of everything. Desk staff were very good. You do have a good view of Baltimore if you have a room on the right side of the building. I don't think I would stay here again.

Thank you for your review. "Refreshing" our sleeping rooms is an ongoing project including new mattresses and new furniture. We recently completed the replacement of the TV's in every room to new 42' flat screen LCD TV's. I'm sorry for your frustration with the remote. Anytime there is a problem with a remote, all you have to do is call the Front Desk and they will have someone from Maintenance bring you up a replacement remote.
We hope you will consider to staying with us again when you return to Johns Hopkins Hospitals or the Baltimore area.

We appreciated the hotel for the price we paid, the free shuttle, and buffet breakfast. The staff was friendly and provided great service. The in-room bathroom had no fan, which caused for steam to build up in the bathroom and the faucet leaked; however, neither inhibited the use of the room. We enjoyed the complimentary shuttle, which afforded us the opportunity to not have to worry about parking in the habour. Our chief complaint with the hotel was their restuarant Tradewinds. Their dinner service left much to be desired and their menu, or at least their chef needs to improve his/her culinary skills. The childrens menu especially needs improvement. The breakfast buffet was sufficient and well maintained throughout the meal service.

Very nice hotel, great accomadations. Not the greatest part of town, but you feel safe/comfortable there. Our room was a King suite and came with a fridge, safe, and microwave. The breakfast was great, and the other guests seemed pleased with their stay as well.

1st time staying at a Best Western. Rooms are very outdated, more so with the fall/ rustic look they got going on with the two tone colors. The hallways to the room was hot except when you check in where it was freezing. Upon check in the staff was friendly and explained everything from free shuttle bus to the inner harbor to the par breakfast. The pool is small, looked dirty & smelled more chlorine than anything and the fitness room is a joke. Since this hotel is not really close to anything and didn't get into to check in until around 10:30pm had to settle for Mc Donald's that is walking distanced. But couldn't eat that because seen a rat/ field mouse playing hide & seek with us. This place was not on my list to stay but & would not recommend when you got with other people you have to compromise.

I'm sorry our hotel did not meet with your expectations. We just wanted to let you know that we have recently begun replacing mattresses and furnitire in some of our sleeping rooms. We have met with our Maintenance staff to discuss the issues with the AC in the hallways and the chlorine in the pool and a plan is in place to take care of these problems.
Thank you for your review. We hope you will reconsider and visit us again at the Best Western Plus in Baltimore.

A friend and I booked this hotel for our annual get away to the inner harbor. I was excited to get a hotel that offered a free shuttle and so closely located. Once arriving the excitment stayed, the exterior and lobby are very nice. Check in was easy and we even got to check in early. Once getting to the room, by taking dated and scary elevators, we got to our room. The room was cold which was nice since it was very hot upon our arrival. The decor was dated but that didn't matter. The desk in the room was beat to death, the drawer wouldn't open and it was nicked and chipped all over. The beds looked inviting however after sleeping in them or trying to, you can feel the springs, I changed my mind. Bathroom was nicely updated, minus the previous guest hair and dust all over the floor. Overall, I am disappointed in the room and hotel for the price paid and wouldn't recommend to anyone.

Thank you for taking the time to write your review. I'm glad to hear you were impressed with the lobby and that your check-in went smoothly.
As we recently completed replacing all of the TV'sin all of the sleeping rooms, we have now begun the project of replacing the mattresses and the furniture. This is an extensive project and will take over a year, but I hope you will visit us again.

This was the worst Best western plus I have ever stayed in. Rooms were outdated , I can see a trash from my window. The location was not Family Friendly at all. We didn't feel secure leaving our belonging in the room and going anywhere. I stayed there using a Third party reservation from orbitz ,After few days I checked my account and Best western charged me for another amount of $82. Management is poor and Ownership of the hotels need to update the location.

Positive - Staff is Friendly and Helpful.
