“8 out of 10”
Reviewed August 10, 2013

The hotel was beautiful. It was so comfortable. The rooms should be more spacious with better lighting. The breakfast was okay but the staff was amazing. There was this one man. I think he was the cook that kept on treating me great. Told me about 8 out of 10 ;). The manager, housekeepers, and the people that works the front desk were so kind and helpful. Overall it was a great stay for memorial weekend.

We moved over to SpringHill Suites midway through our visit to Baltimore due to a bad first hotel. At first sight, I wondered how good it would be, as the exterior appears to indicate a dated high-rise. We were very pleasantly surprised on entering the lobby, though, as Marriott has done a meticulous job of turning what appears to have been an old bank into a beautiful, modern hotel. The high, patterned ceilings, marble staircases and chandeliers couldn't be replaced at any price, but they've been gorgeously integrated into a cozy 21st century inn. Our room looked like a cross between a modern suite hotel and a bed and breakfast. It was spotlessly clean and the beds were the best I've slept in. Our room was spacious, and if it hadn't been for a less-than-adequate mattress on the pull-out sofa that one of our party had to use I'd have rated it "perfect".

Breakfast was plentiful and tasty and included self-made waffles (in vanilla or multi-grain), eggs, good sausage, several varieties of yogurt, oatmeal, breads & bagels and fruit. Nutella as well as jellies, peanut butter and cream cheese were available for spreads. Vegetarian members of our party as well as the rest of us had no problem finding attractive options.

Best of all was the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff at all levels. Night clerk Gary went out of his way to enliven our visit, the hotel maids and room supervisor greeted us when we met, the valets were reliable and cheerful, and the management were ever-present and solicitous of our enjoyment. The hotel is only a short (downhill) walk to the convention center, and we couldn't have asked for a nicer place to stay.

If you want a good place to stay in Baltimore, I'd recommend SpringHill Suites every time.

Room Tip: Our room faced Redwood St.. It's a short street that ends a couple of blocks in either directio...

We stayed for a wedding in Baltimore and were surprised with the service at this hotel. Sade at the front desk and Gary went totally above and beyond! Every single time you leave the hotel the valet asks if you need directions. They make you feel like they really care about you. The free breakfast is awesome! The area is kept spotless and Gary makes sure everyone has plenty to eat. Would totally stay here again!

My family and I stayed here to see the Boston Red Sox play at Camden Yards. The hotel is located within walking distance of the stadium and the inner harbor. The price is reasonable, although the additional parking fee was a little much. However, the room was large and clean. I liked having two TVs and a separate working/desk area. The breakfast spread was great and complimentary. Although the children were bummed there was not a pool, everyone enjoyed our stay. The customer service was impeccable! I would certainly stay here again.

In Baltimore for a weekend with friends, the room was spacious, bedding very comfortable. The breakfast was very good. Location is fantastic, walk to inner harbor and Camden Yards. Lobby is a converted bank, very pretty. Still have the safe in the basement. Relatively pricy, but worth it for solid safe experience.

I have been staying at the hotel for serveral weeks now. I find the front desk and lobby staff friendly and knowledgable. They have improved the breakfast a little but SpringHills are known for there standard fare and not a lot of imagination.

I guess if I had to find a fault with the hotel it would be with house keeping. There seems to have been a major turnover of personel after the new manager took over and he is working hard to turn the place into something to be proud of. But with change comes failues and the housekeeping staff is not very consistant. Just little things but if you are like me and stay in hotels 4 out of 7 nights a week you notice this stuff.

Room Tip: Stay away from the rooms on the ends unless you have a larger group. They a little more noicy becau...

We stayed at this hotel as we were in town for a lacrosse tournament and wanted to be close to the Inner harbor. The hotel was nice but the custiomer service is what made it special. Gary was beyond exceptional. He was friendly (as was most of the staff) but beyond that he was funny, engaging and went above and beyond. He personally found and delivered a luggage cart to our room after the front desk informed us that "they were unable to locate any at the moment". Gary over heard this and said" I will find you one, go eat your breakfast and I will bring up to your husband"! When he did this, my husband tried to tip him and he would not accept the tip!
Overall the hotel was not very quiet at night and we did not get much sleep as the neighborhood was loud... you could hear fighting and yelling from the windows as I assume the bars were letting out at that hour. This noise went on for hours! The breakfast was good and again the staff was friendly and accomodating to anyone in need of anything during the complimentary breakfast!
