Friendly staff, was happy with my stay, room clean, no smell in my room, window difficult to open, with opened window some street noise as must be expected in the centre of Baltimore. Good location - safe environs, stop of the free inner city bus across the street ("Charm City Circulator").
Old bulilding with a bit of flair of a historic building - no elevator. Compact room.
Free breakfast with good coffee, self to make waffles, ...
Unfortunately wake-up call came late.
Summary: of course not first class, but good accomodation in the center of town and for not so much money.

At least the last time I checked, the Rodeway Inn isn't mentioned in the same breath as the Holiday Inn or other higher-end hotel chains in downtown Baltimore. I also am given to understand that the Rodeway was only more recently opened, though I don't know if that's true. Regardless, for two consecutive years now I have stayed at the Rodeway, and I plan to stay here again. It is considerably friendlier on the wallet than any other hotel in downtown Baltimore, and it is a great central location, within walking distance of the Inner Harbor and essentially anywhere else one might like to go. It may lack the amenities that you'd find at larger chains, but when you're in another city one should hardly be spending all their time in the hotel. The service is friendly, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and I cannot recommend the Rodeway Inn highly enough!

Room Tip: Book early!

The Rodeway Inn is in a very good location, situated in a quiet street, in the heart of Baltimore and only a few steps away from many good and reasonably priced restaurants, etc. Parking is free across the street and there is also an amazing FREE bus service, which stops across from the hotel every ten minutes. The bustling marina area is within walking distance, or a couple of stops away on the FREE bus. The hotel staff are extremely helpful and friendly and we can’t believe what a bargain this place is….we will definitely stay here again.

The hotel is fairly well located, very reasonable in price, and has a quaint European feel to it. I suspect, given the nature of the building, that experiences may vary depending on which room one gets. My room - 116 - was a fourth-floor walkup (no elevator that I could find) accessed by taking the main staircase to the second floor, then a back staircase to the top. The room was European in size (i.e. the bed filled most of the room), which I didn't mind. The window didn't open and the room lacked its own AC. I went to bed warm and stuffy and woke about 2:30 a.m. freezing once the building AC had caught up. In the morning, the shower temp never got past cool. Breakfast was what one might expect for the price.

Room Tip: Try asking for a room on the first two floors

The staff at this hotel were extremely friendly and helpful. The location is perfect for visitors to Baltimore. There is a free bus service called the circulator which stops right across from the hotel. This bus service runs free tours of the city, also down to the harbour. There are several restaurants a few steps away from the hotel with great vegetarian options (very important to me) I would definitely stay here again and this hotel is fantastic value for money.

When I arrived back at this hotel after the Orioles games it was like home away from home. Mike the manager and his staff are the friendliest and most helpful hotel people you will find anywhere. They create a superb impression of Baltimore which is a terrific city anyway, one I will return to. I have already recommended this hotel to friends. The free bus to downtown is just across the street and several convenience stores are nearby.
You can't beat the price for the location either. Sure, the rooms are small but they are well kept and clean. This hotel was once a house.

Room Tip: Just telephone, the desk is open 24-7.

I originally booked this hotel because I had already stayed at a Rodeway Inn in PA and the experience was OK. The Rodeway Inn's staff at Baltimore were much nicer and friendlier than what I have experienced. The room was a nice size and were modestly clean. The bathroom, however, had hair on the floor and in the shower, but I brought it up and it was immediately cleaned. The staff was helpful and although we were late for breakfast (7-10) they still served us coffee and made sure my son had his cereal and juice. I would recommend this hotel to a friend or would stay here again myself.
