I work not far from Hampden and eat, bank and shop there often. It is a great collection of independent restaurants (Hon's and The Lunch Box to name 2 of my favorites) and stores (Bottom Drawer Lingerie and all the mid-century antique spots..) Parking can be tough at lunch or dinner time but look for the lots spread around behind some of the restaurant and shops.

Hampden is a tiny little slice of Baltimore. Perhaps best known for the awesome Christmas light display where every house on the block is decked out and of course the quintessential Baltimore Hon, there's always something to do in Hampden. GREAT SHOPS!! Seriously, go on a First Friday and a lot of the stores give you wine and snacks, and semi-decent discounts. Make sure you go to Ma Petite Shoe (half shoe store, half chocolate store, totally fantastic). Lots of good restaurants. My fave is probably Dogwood. Also like 13.5%, Alchemy, Food Market, and Cafe Hon. If you're trying to get into Woodberry Kitchen, make reservations sooner rather than later.

As the title states..you only need to do it once. Very small street and no parking, no bathrooms..makes it kind of a crap shoot with small children.

Eclectic is a good word to describe this area of Baltimore. Intersting shopping and good food options. The Hon fest is always a great time too.

What a great area. Probably our favorite of all the areas in Baltimore. I must say that we found the people of Baltimore friendly and helpful. Hampden is full of little independent shops and has the funky but not pretentious vibe. Lots of the vendors there gave us extra insight into Baltimore. It is a Baltimore must!
