On our most recent visit to Charm City I imposed an unusual objective upon myself: I resolved to eat crab in some form at least once at every meal.
Mt. Vernon Stable & Saloon helped me accomplish that "feat" when I chose the restaurant's Baltimore Breakfast; Eggs Benedict served over lump crabmeat. Simply ethereal mix of flavors on the palate. My BH also went a little daring by ordering The Seafood Omelette. She pronounced it "divine". I was impressed by that omelette's plate presentation and fluffy "mile-high" appearance. In our party was a third: DD. It was her urging that allowed us to experience this wonderful meal.
The brunch here is not to be confused with buffet. Every selection is from the menu and prepared one-for-one.
Our Sunday visit here was unhurried, and we were given gracious service. This is a true neighborhood bar-restaurant that devised an ambitious menu and seems to pull it off with flair. We chose a half-carafe of Mimosa and another half carafe of Bloody Mary's to accompany our brunch. An older couple seated near us chose to finish their brunch with coffee and cognac. Why didn't I think of that!
