“An amazing quality hotel in the inner harbor of Baltimore.”
Reviewed July 1, 2010

When we got to the hotel and walked into the hotel for the first time I couldn't believe the quality of this hotel. It was a little more expensive, but it was worth it all for once. The room was huge and I was amazed with the beds. The city is loud so I advise you to close all your windows. I didn't and we kept hearing cars going up the street all night. If you like the Yankees, but the tickets are too expensive, go to a Baltimore Orioles VS New York Yankees in Baltimore and make a vacation out of it. We got All You Can Eat Tickets for $40 per ticket.

We stayed one night on our way down to Virginia from New Jersey. The hotel was very easy to drive to and we were able to pull right up to the entrance, even during rush hour traffic. We were met right away by the Valet who helped us with our luggage and made check-in very easy. The hotel is 2 blocks away from the waterfront and it was very nice to come back to a clean and comfortable hotel room after visiting the aquarium. The breakfast had so many choices and was wonderful to have upon waking up in the morning. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

Loved this hotel. It is steps from Inner Harbor and walking distance to Camden Yards. The rooms were clean and spacious and we even got upgraded to a bigger room when we arrived early and our room was not yet ready. The staff was so nice and friendly and very helpful with all our tourist questions. The complimentary breakfast in the morining was wonderful too as it was a real buffet- not just contintental, so we started our day with a full belly. The kitchenette in the room made it very easy to grab a quick lunch before heading out. Would DEFINITELT stay her again next time we visit Baltimore.

Stayed here for 5 days for a business trip. The property is in the middle of downtown, close to the office building I visited and within walking distance to the Inner Harbor. As a woman traveling alone, I did have to keep an eye on my entire surroundings whenever I walked in town. Just had to play it smart and not stay out too late as there are a lot of pan handlers both day and night.

The hotel itself was always clean, the personnel always accommodating and professional, and the convenience of having a complimentary hot breakfast every morning was a plus. The kitchenette in my room was also quite convenient, and my room had a separate table for eating and another for working, which I did almost every evening. The wired internet connection worked great. At times, I could hear the sirens coming from the street below but it wasn't too bothersome since I was on the 11th floor. I would suggest staying on upper floor to avoid street noise.

I also used the gym which was quite adequate with a couple of stairmasters, a few treadmills and bikes. All newer equipment which was offered a great workout.

All in all, the Residence Inn in downtown Baltimore is a nice property for business travelers.

With the possible exception of our free breakfast, there was nothing particularly memorably about our stay in the Residence Inn, but generally that's a good thing. We spent one night in the hotel as a stopover on our way to Washington DC, and spent the next morning touring the sites in the Inner Harbor area.
The hotel's location is very convenient, it's just a short walk to the Aquarium and other major sites. That said, Baltimore isn't the greatest city in the world, and I'm not sure how safe the immediate area would be at night. We saw one panhandler as we came in the first night. Somewhat oddly, the hotel locks the front door late at night; you'll need a room key to get back in... not the most reasurring thing.
Although the hotel is a high rise (about 12 floors I think) and it's just a few blocks from the harbor, it doesn't really have any view to speak of. It's pretty much surrounded by other buildings. There's also a bit of street noise, sirens, car alarms and such, but nothing too unusual for a downtown hotel.
Yes, valet parking is definately steep at $29, but it's in and out service and with the location so close to the harbor area it's somewhat reasonable. We stayed only one night but they let us keep the car in the lot 'til 5:00pm the next day, which gave us enough time to explore the sites before we headed out.
We booked a small suite with a seperate bedroom... it was just about as small as a two room suite could be but it was comfortable and it was nice that the kids could have their own room. The single king sized bed in the bedroom was comfortable, but the pull out the kids slept in outside didn't look all that great. It work fine for us with two young kids along, but if you had a set of teenagers I'm not sure it would work; you'd probably need to look for a suite with a bit more room. We didn't make use of the kitchen, but it may have been convenient if we'd stayed longer.
The free breakfast the next morning was definately a nice plus. They had a good variety of food, including fresh fruit and a make your own waffle station.
Everything else about the place was pretty much generic... the lobby, room decor, and service were all just fine with nothing that stood out in particular either good or bad.
If you're looking for someplace elegant and romantic to spend a honeymoon then this probably isn't the place for you (and I wouldn't particularly recommend visiting Baltimore either) - but if you need a nice comfortable place to spend the night that's convenient to the tourist area then it's definately recommended.

I got a great deal on Priceline.com ($131 after taxes and all). Then at the front desk I was told the pet fee was $100 non-refundable. And on top of that, the only hotel parking was valet at $29/night. So, basically my price doubled at check-in.

I was kind, but expressed my frusteration. The manager overheard. After getting my car unpacked, she called me back over to tell me she cut the pet fee in half to $50 (I consider that at the high end of "reasonable").

Now, the parking -- you're only hotel option is valet at $29/night. You can try to find a spot on the street (yeah, right! It's in the middle of downtown!) or you can go across the street to a parking garage (not sure of the rate). We went with valet for our one night stay.
