“Excellent Accommodation In Very Good Location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 24, 2011

The wife and I stayed at this hotel twice in April, for one night prior to a cruise and three nights when we got back. Lets get to it then, all the staff we met were excellent from the greeting as we got out of the cab to the time we walked out the front door. Nothing was ever too much trouble. It was very busy when we were there, lots of children and it was a holiday. That meant that breakfast was rather more hectic but to be expected. All the usual for hot and cold was available and included in the price of the suite. Yes these are suites, so you get a small kitchen with all appliances, lounge, bedroom and bathroom. Very good size indeed. I always moan on here about wi-fi access but cannot about the residence inn as it's free and was of a good speed too. The location was excellent, a short stroll (less then 5 minutes) and your at the waterfront of the inner harbour where most Baltimore attractions and shops are. It's also a short stroll to the Camden Yards and Baltimore's baseball team the Orioles. Well worth a night out. If you want to go to Lexington Market area (The area is a dump really) or Penn Station for a train to Washington DC then take the free bus which picks up from the side of the residence inn. Excellent service for getting around. If you want to go any further grab a cab, they are cheap and friendly. All in all no option but to give the Residence Inn by Marriott five stars.

Room Tip: We booked direct via Marriott web site

This hotel is designed for more extended stays with complete kitchen, large comfortable rooms. The staff was helpful and courteous and had no problems with an early checkin that I had called when making the reservation. The room well appointed, clean, quiet and along with the complimentary coffee, even had microwave popcorn in the welcome basket.
Complimentary breakfast was better than most with hot items as well as the usual continental stuff.

We stayed at this hotel 1 night on the way to Washington DC. It was very clean, confortable, nice sleeping conditions. the studio room had a full kitchen and a separate bedroom with confortable king bed. The room was modern and nicely decorated. No complaints! Would stay there again. There was complementary breakfast which was very nice and with lots of variety including self made waffles, yogurt, cereal, pastries, coffee etc but there was a bit of a crowd. Location is perfect for the inner harbor and candem yards. valet parking was a bit slow but very nice to have. Try the chocolate mouse cheesecake at the nearby Cheesecake factory.

Room Tip: Studio on a higher floor

Hotel has been very nicely redone. Rooms were large & clean. Beds are NOT what you usually find in hotels represented by Marriott, which was very disappointing, but I got through the night. I have to say that the staff wasn't overly friendly though. The young man that checked us in was in training, so he gets a pass, but the gal that was training him never even looked up at us, then later that night upon entering the hotel again, not so much as a head nod. Maybe I'm old-school, but I believe in manners.

The rooms were extremely quite...very nice to see this. All of our requests were met, & that was a plus.

Great location...not even a half mile away from the Inner Harbor, which was great. As far as being "frightened" by the area, I was not & you should ignore those reviews that bring the location to light for that purpose. If you are going to stay in the city, you are going to encounter things that you don't see in the country...expect it. Be vigilant, not scared, & your stay will be an enjoyable one.

This hotel was JUST GREAT. We are a family of 5 - 2 parents and triplet 2 YO boys. we had a 2 BR room at the Residence Inn for 8 nights and wer traveling from overseas. The hotel helped us arrange transport from DUlles ( Apollo transport - so helpful - they bought 2 more car seats so that we didn't have to bring ours from overseas!), were friendly and helpful in helping us find necessities around the area (grovery, pharmacy, etc). our first morning (after a 14 hour flight) we had a pleasant surprise of a WONDERFUL hot breakfast that was included with the room. eggs, a vat of oatmeal, fresh fruit, yogurt parfaits, potato pancakes, you name it. Breakfast had staples everyday, but they changed it up a bit. we were so thankful to see that our kids would have a decent breakfast every morning and it would help us save on our food bill for the week.

it is a SHORT walk form the harbor area, the convention center (we were there for a conference and then a few days with family), etc. it's right off of several FREE bus lines, and a decent grocery store is within 10 mins walk, as is a walk in clinic if necessary. wiresless and ethernet is included, and they have an area where you can print if necessary. the rooms are nicely appointed and it appears to be new or newly renovated. THey even took us to their basement when our triple stroller began to get a flat tire! it was no problem getting 3 cribs and everyone was helpful and pleasant throughout our entire stay, from desk staff, to the breakfast staff, to the valet/doormen - literally EVERYONE.

one thign to know, it IS in the city and it does overlook busy streets. so you get some sirens. luckily we were all so tired it never bothered us, but if you are looking for a super quiet place, this is not the place to be. with that said, it was never LOUD either - you could just hear them going by. i mean, you are in a city. at least they are responding, right?

Two of my close girlfriends and I stayed at Residence Inn by Marriott in Downtown/Inner Harbor, and had a spectacular time. We arrived early, and as soon we pulled up the Valet Parking guys were opening our doors, and greating us. They took our bags and loaded them, as well as escorted us into the lobby for check in. We were able to check in early with no issues, and the ladies at the front desk were very friendly. Our room was large, with a stocked kitchen. The room /kitchen/bathroom were spotless. Although we didn't have a view (faced another building), it didn't matter to us..We were content with the amount of space we had to spread out, unwind and catch up with one another.

The location was great. We were able to walk to the inner harbor, but due to it being late..we grabbed a cab and explored downtown. The bell hops were great at giving suggestions, and directions to where we needed to go.

The breakfast provided in the morning was by far the BEST breakfast at a hotel we've ever had. It was packed, which was to be expected..but worth waiting in line for. Check out was easy, and our car was brought back to us quickly. All of us agreed that we can't wait to come back to Residence Inn with our families.

One block away from the Renaissance for half the price. A cheap, clean and spacious Residence Inn suite without the big hotel services, although you can get room service from the bar downstairs. Free wifi and good standard of furnishings, TV in both the living area and bedroom. Staff were efficient and friendly. Good security with room key access to the elevators and front door locked after 9pm.
