The Red Maple is one of those places that tries real hard to be exclusive and posh, but unfortunately falls far short of this. The prices might be posh (aka overpriced), but their door policy is far below par (rude) and their staff is at times incompetent. It is normal for an exclusive, high end bar/club to have a dress code, but where Red Maple slips up is in the way it communicates this at the door. I personally did not have a problem getting in, even though I am not American, but the door man was rude to some people before my group. The real exclusive, posh clubs make sure their staff is polite yet strict at all times. Once you are in it is decently nice for a club/bar in Baltimore, but definitely falls short in comparison to establishments in NY/DC/LA/London.
In short: a disappointment if you are used to the level of 'posh' clubs in London/New York/Los Angeles/Washington that Red Maple is desperately aspiring to belong to.
